I learned about the view points of both federalists and anti-federalists, the federalists papers, and who thought of the Bill of Rights. One interesting fact is that many disproved of the constitution. Another interesting fact is that people in 1787 were extremely influenced by media such as newspapers. Why did the federalist not agree with the Bill of Rights?

From the reading I learned that Alexander Hamilton wrote the first essay for the Federalist Papers, most federalists lived in big coastal cities, and that most antifederalists lived in rural areas. Two interesting facts would be that the Constitution was signed in September 17, 1787, and that the three people who wrote the Federalist Papers used the pen name Publius. One question that I have is how do they know where most Federalists and Antifederalists live?

From the reading, I learned about Alexander Hamilton. I admire his bravery to speak out about what he believed was right (the Constitution) and even go as far as creating essays arguing with his critics. Additionally, I learned about what interests the Federalists and Anti-Federalists had at heart. Federalists wanted a strong and stable federal government, Anti Federalists wanted to give more power to the state governments. Lastly, I learned the reason why Congress added the Bill of Rights to the Constitution. It was to prevent the abuse of power by the federal government, making everyone happier.

2 interesting facts from the reading are…

Hamilton was a lawyer

Hamilton was the only delegate from New York who signed the Constituion

1 Question I Have…

What gave Hamilton the courage to speak out about how he believed in the the Constitution?

Three things I learned from the reading was that the Federalist Papers were made up of 85 essays written by Hamilton, Madison, and Jay. Anti-Federalists believed that the Executive Branch ( president ) would become a tyrant ruler like the British king. James Madison proposed twelve amendments but of those twelve, ten were ratified which are known as the Bill of Rights.

Two interesting facts are that there were fifty-five delegates that attended the Constitutional Convention, and Federalists tended to live in coastal areas while Anti-Federalists lived in more rural areas.

One question I have about the reading is “What was the first amendment to get ratified of the 12 amendments proposed by James Madison?”
