Her body language makes it seem as if she did not lay down on the grass by choice, but instead, judging from the twist of her body, she fell down there on the wheat field, which is not a very comfortable place to lay down on. 

There is a lot of imperfections on the woman's body. Her right elbow has a very strange look about it, is almost looks deformed. This is due to the fact that she is so frail and skinny, with so little muscle that her tendons are protruding and things got twisted. Her skin color is very dull, almost purplish, which is not a healthy glow. In fact, there seems to be very little glow whatsoever. Her hands are grey, most likely covered in dust and soot. 

This implies that the woman has a very harsh life and the fact that she is the only living thing in the painting also implies that she is always in solitude. There is never anyone to help her, no one to pull her up from the fields. 

The house and the barn do not seem like welcoming places. They seem very barren, worn down, cold. The fact that the woman shows very strong body language to reach the buildings implies that she has nothing else in her life. Christina's body is very frail, she is thin to the point that you can make out her bones and tendons. Her dress and body is covered in dust and soot, and her loose bun is very messy. Christina is obviously not someone that is rich, she seems to lead a very hard life. Worked down to the bones, with just enough to subsist herself for a time. Yet,  
Christina's strong body language, the twist of her body, the immense amount of tension, and the direction of it. All of it is leaning towards the barren house and barn.  She seems very desperate to get to the buildings, too desperate. 

This is Christina's life. She has no were else to run to despite how much she starves in this place. Despite how much pain she has to face. This worn down barn and house is literally her world, and its the only one that she knows.
