This election result could have been predicted by the science of the mind: people untrained in some form of (NON-VULCAN) rationality almost always prefer emotional appeals to logical appeals, if one set contradicts the other.

Why was Stalin so greedy? He should have expected to be attacked if he wasn't slow about his world domination!

For the record (although I haven't read his works), the article says that Marx's version of Socialism was very different from Stalin's form (which was actually a dictatorship, because he had more power than everyone else, causing inequality). How do you think our foreign relations will play out now that we have a new president?
Trump is callous/doesn't get along with others that much, so they will be negatively affected
Relations with Russia will finally be boosted (Trump seems to like Putin)
   Russia & US will help each other out
   Relations with countries that he feels aren't paying enough for our protection will be reduced
      NOTE: America protects a lot of other countries
      Trump feels these countries are paying us less money than we're paying for them

Trump wants to bring back some companies (Detroit might not be bankrupt now, if car companies come back)
   People feel the economy would be stronger if we were doing more manufacturing (Ms. Hedges)
   Trump's own products are made in other countries
   If companies manufacture in other countries, they have less restrictions (human rights, minimum wages, minimum ages, etc.)

Pursuing "trades" is a lucrative endeavor
   Even if you choose to take an 'advanced' profession, there may not be jobs available for you
      Lawyers in particular: may depend on which laws you specialize in

Hillary won the popular vote, but Trump had 299 electoral votes

Electoral vote - based on population of each state (eg California has many, while Wisconsin has only 3)
   Winner takes all - if you have .5% lead, you still win
      Even though Clinton won the popular vote by having huge leads in the states she won, Trump won by TINY margins in more states, so he won the election

Clinton won most of the West Coast, Trump won in most of the East Coast

What do you think the results show about how people feel?
   Most voters want change, ANY change
   NFL did a poll - of 22 white people, all voted for Trump, versus only 5 or 6 of the 22 from other ethnicities
   Trump used emotional appeals for most of his candidacy
   Many people were crying at the election results

   Have to live in America for the past 14 yrs
