In the book The Fort by Gordon Korman Evan, Jason, Mitchell, C.J., and Ricky all wanted a place to hangout. One day after Hurricane Leo they went into the forest to find something to do. They ended up stumbling upon a trap door that had been covered by a pile of dirt. They went inside and found out it had been a bomb shelter from the 1980's. However, Evan's older brother started to catch on where they had been going after school eveyday. Therefore, Ricky had a clever idea to make a fake fort by putting a lot of stone in a circle. For a while, he actually thought the fake fort was the real one. Then Mitchell's girlfriend found out about the fort and her dad was a police officer. They were also trespssing because the property did not belong to them. Luckily, Mitchell's girlfriend did not tell her dad. In the end, the boys all had a place to relax and hangout.
