         <description><![CDATA[<p>Location: beneath skin, around organs and blood vessels, between muscles, and supports glands. </p><p>Characteristics/Identification: a loose, flexible arrangement of fibers in a gel-like ground substance that makes it strong, yet flexible. </p><p>Structure-Function: contains fibroblasts, collagen, and elastic fibers that are embedded in a fluid ground substance, creating a flexible matrix that provides support, cushioning, and flexibility for surrounding organs. Used to bind epithelial tissue to deeper tissues, as a pathway for blood, houses immune cells like macrophages, and essential for nutrient exchange.  </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Location: lymph nodes, spleen, tonsils, thymus, bone marrow, liver, kidney, intervertebral discs, etc. </p><p>Characteristics/Identification: a network of delicate, branched reticular fibers that form a supportive stroma within soft organs like lymph nodes. </p><p>Structure-Function: consists of stroma, the fine mesh-like internal framework, that is made up of collagen fibers, with specialized fibroblasts called reticular cells that are scattered throughout. The main function is to provide a supportive scaffold that houses and filters immune cells and blood cells, which is vital for immune response and organ functions. </p>]]></description>

Fibers are aligned in a parallel shape, running the same direction with fibroblasts in the fibers. </p><p>Structure-Function: provides strong, flexible support that is important for structural support, protection and connecting tissues. the parallel fibers provide extra support in the tissue. </p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

Made of fine collagen fibers with the surrounding extracellular matrix. </p><p>Structure-Function: flexible yet tough due to the extracellular matrix and collagen fibers. They mainly provide structural support for organs like the nose, reduce friction, absorb shock joints, and serve as the template for bone development in long bones. </p>]]></description>

Red blood cells are shaped as discs while white blood cells are often various shaped and contain a nucleus.</p><p>Structure-Function: its primary function is to transport oxygen, nutrients, waste, and hormones, regulate homeostatic mechanisms such as temperature, pH, and fluid balance, and protect the body from infection and blood loss. </p>]]></description>
