Part 1: Introduction by Rachel Becken https://padlet.com/rbecken/3h25k2kaua8t Hi Guys, my name is Rachel Becken. I was born and currently live in Sanborn, NY. I would have to say my best characteristic would have to be that I'm a very creative person. Because of this I'm always crafting and working on various projects. My worst trait would be that I'm a procrastinator and I like to take my time completing a task. I currently work as a draftsperson at Landmark Landsurveying Co. and Siuta Farms as the Operations Manager. Since I work and live on a farm I tend to wear camo and work boots a lot. My favorite motivational quote is "Don't Let anyone dull your sparkle" I know it sounds cheesy but it always helps remind me to always be myself no matter what life throws at me. I'm really not a book person I would rather watch a movie or go outside but I did read the Divergent Series which I thought was pretty good. I really don't think there is anything very interesting about me. I guess a cool fact about me would be that I hunt and grew up on a farm. I also love to travel and recenlty got married! <3 I believe with going through a practice interview and having my resume critiqued will help prepare me for a job in the future. -I would like to work in the Criminal Justice field, either helping people by becoming a police office or work more in the administrative side of things.

FIVE YEAR GOAL:

- Something i can do in the next five years to achieve my goal is to earn a Masters in Criminal Justice Administration.

ONE YEAR GOAL:

-Something that i can accomplish this year to help with my five year goal is to get a internship with a Police Department. This will help better prepare me for my Masters Program. I can also apply for the Niagara County's Community Police Academy. Through this program I can earn a better understanding of the day to day aspects of being a police office. Helping me determine if perusing a job as a Police office is feasible.

MONTHLY GOAL:

- My monthly goal is to study hard and get good grades so that I can go on to graduate and obtain my masters.

WEEKLY GOAL:

-My weekly goal is to attend the Community Police Academy. By this i can expand my knowledge of the Justice system.

DAILY GOAL:

-Something i can do today would be to complete all my homework and assigned readings in a timely manner. This will help me stay on track with my homework. since i tend to be a procrastinator.

RIGHT NOW:

- Something I can do right now to help achieve my goal is look up positions in the Criminal Justice field that interest me. Also ways i can improve my resume so that I am a better candidate for a potential job or internship.
