In the 1930s Country and Western music had spread across the nation by whites in the Southern and Midwest regions of the United States. It became apart of many South and Western cultures by dancing to the music and being entertained by it as well. Traditional rural music was transformed into a different type of Country and Western music because it depended on the radio. This is what we hear now in our society.

On this day and age, Country music is considered to be most related towards the South and Western States in the United States. That is because it was made famous there. Now artist don not sing songs about their journey to where they are now, but about what their love life is like and other love relative things. There is rarely, in my own opinion, any type of story behind the Country music that is being made today.

That's My Kind of Night- By: Luke Bryan

Now here's an example of a Country song that doesn't make our society look good. This song's story is about a guy at a party drinking away when he sees a pretty girl. He goes on singing about having a "good time" with her and the video shows a girl taking her shirt off in the middle of the night in the water. This sends a powerful message about our society that a majority of our population is fixated on having a "good time" with the opposite sex

One Piece at a Time- By: Johnny Cash

This is a good example of our society. By the way, Johnny Cash is the only Country singer that I really like since I grew up listening to him. The infamous Johnny Cash sings about making a car overs years of working at a car shop. He sings about taking supplies from the shop and trying to figure out what should work and what didn't work. There were obstacles in his way but he was able to push through them and he accomplished his goal in making his Cadillac. This shows that most of society doesn't give up on themselves when things get tough.

I could never really get into any Country music, besides Johnny Cash, because it just didn't peak my interest. Maybe it is because the background music seems the same from almost all Country music. It's not extreme or too soft. Also a majority of today's Country music is mainly about having "fun" it just doesn't fit well for me.

After doing my Media Report 2, I started to somewhat like the music. Not too much but just a little. Now that I am really listening to it I might get use to it... But I don't like some of the concepts of some of them. Like the Luke Bryan example.
