Trusting an agency with the sale of your property is a big deal.

Online searches took places with comparison of competitive rates, first place to look was facebook- when trying to get honest reviews i was faced with majority of spam comments on Peter Alans facebook- this proved it to be extremely difficult to filter through what was the honest truth. We then searched the Peter Alan website with no prevail, there were no good reviews we could see here either.

Google is by far my favourite form of research, its on hand its easy to use and its quick to find answers.

I like the presentation of both Chris Davies' Website and Peter Alan both for different reasons- Peter Alan is Bright colorful and eye catching where as Chris Davies is more simple and easier to read, the use of colour not only helps the reader remember the wording but also the branding, Larson (2022).

An added extra which i liked about Chris Davies is when first clicking onto their website you can see all of the up and coming community events this shows a keen interest and involvement.

When searching for the right agent to build a trusty relationship with they all initially want to fight for your business with the same punchlines and mottos for the same end goal, however all it takes is that one key worker who goes that extra mile to secure your business or catches your attention and you are in, contracts signed, now its a waiting game!

Deciding which area

My parents moved to Rhoose in February 2023 and my sister in law also moved to Rhoose 3 years ago so for us that was the area we were set on, to be closer to family, to have a possible better upbringing for our children in a smaller village rather than a bigger town.

Hiring removal vans

Hiring a van was a pretty straight forward process, having used them before i was able to use google to retrieve their contact details and call them the week before. I think they would benefit from having a website with a range of the vans that they stock so that if i was not sure on which van i required i would be able to have a look before hand.

Signing legal documents

When signing a legal document you really need to concentrate as all the words are formatted the same font, colour and size suggesting its importance, there are no pictures unless a small header of legal reference. While i agree with why it is done this way i do struggle as having paragraphs of texts the same size colour and font is daunting, i lose focus and may not concentrate as well as i should for something with such importance. Maybe the option for an audio recording or a video could be available for everyone not just in certain circumstances, without taking away the importance of the file. Viewing a video is an active process which can be "on going and highly interconnected process of monitoring and comprehending" and a "complex, cognitive activity that develops and matures with development to promote learning" (Marshall,2002,p7)

This shows that it could be beneficial to have other ways to showcase legal documents as through videos/ audio learners get to process information fast.

Deciding to move home was a massive challenge we did not know if we would be able to achieve, in a fixed rate mortgage for 5 years how would it even be possible?! The information i needed to gather first of all was is there a way around moving with a fixed mortgage? Using google i was able to understand that the answer was yes, i could port my mortgage- which meant taking the mortgage with us with no early exit fee charges.

Our new home

After 4 viewings we knew this was the house for us it ticked so many of our boxes, although we knew it would need work done on it looking at the foundations of the property we were happy to work with it and in time create our dream home.

Adding the floor plan to the advert enables us to have a clear idea and understanding of the scale of the house, although the layout is basic it gives out the correct information in a sufficient way.

We researched the time it would take to do the school run (i would like our children to stay in their school as its a welsh school and there is only English speaking schools in Rhoose)

My dads decorating journey is keeping me motivated and keen to renovate our new property. Mace (2005) states that instead of literacy being an individual, private cognitive skill,it it in fact, a sociable and sociable matter by sharing ideas between my family we are able to help manifest the ideas that we have.

The order of the moving can be overwhelming, having a visual step by step guide can prove an easier way of understanding the process. This is clear, simple but informative. Barton and Hamilton state that 'texts are a crucial part of literacy events as well as how they are produced and used' with this being said even though what is written is minimal it is clear, it gets the message across and is easy to understand with the aid of pictures.
