Millie tuvo  que afeitarse la mayor parte de su cabello para la serie. Para ayudarle a lidiar con la idea, los hermanos Duffer le mostraron lo cool que se ve Charlize Theron en Mad Max y luego de eso Millie aceptó y perdió el miedo.

•  En las audiciones el papel de Mike lo ganó Finn con tan solo hacer su audición por medio de su computadora, ya que se encontraba muy enfermo en casa.

• Antes de comenzar la producción de la serie, todos los escritores miraron una larga lista de películas que incluyeron títulos como: It, E.T., Stand By Me, Los Goonies,  y Pesadilla en la Calle del Infierno. También les dieron una caja repleta de libros, juguetes, películas, discos entre otras cosas que eran muy populares en los 80´s.

• El éxito de la serie va también ligado indudablemente a la banda sonora creada por Kyle Dixon y Michael Stein, integrantes de la banda Survive. La banda sonora hace retroceder inmediatamente a la década de los 80, no sólo por el aire retro de la música, sino por los temas clásicos que incorpora de bandas muy reconocidas como "The Police" y "The Clash" entre otras.
