The essay with topic "Mobile and Flexible Architecture: Solutions for Shelter and Rebuilding in Post-Flood Disaster Situations" are mostly expressing about the method in which portable and flexible architecture has been used in post-disaster situations, its history in the area of New Orleans, USA and some recent examples. Besides, it also investigates how designs implemented for other residential, commercial, industrial, military, medical and entertainment functions have probability to reduce post-disaster problems, with particular attention to post-flood situations. Emergency relief specialist systems and standart products are also given attention; reconstruction facilities including enablers and construction systems; and preparedness opportunities for new shelters and building adaptations, and for the creation of flood resistant architectural design. The potential benefits of utilising mobile and flexible architecture are pointed out and some recommendations are made for guidelines in selecting the most appropriate systems.

My thoughts for the essay, the thing that pick my intrest the most is the case study part where the study of how to overcome the disaster and efforts to restore housing area in the affected area due to flood disaster. Moreover, in the topic also mention that when a disaster occurs, the immediate preoccupation of the population is to save life, then property. A Suitable shelter can play a major role in preventing further distress, illness and death if it is made available immediately, thus emergency shelter must be in use by the victims within the first few days of the post-disaster situation if it is to be at all effective and indeed this step, eventhough it is not that much but the impact for taking this step may save many life and also prevent illness.

The shelter box

I find the "shelter box" to be very the most fascinating. I do admit I almost chose the paper house to be my favourite. But when we look into the effectiveness and applicability aspects, the shelter box won by a small margin. The reason is, the shelter box can be built in minutes and cost much less. It can also be produced in a large amount and distributed to the disaster victims in a short period of time since it's already packed in one box. And based on the video, the shelter box seems to be more durable than regular tents. However, there is a downside to it, which is mainly in aspects of comfort and space. In short, in desperate times, the shelter box could be the fastest and cheapest solution.

The Shedpack

Based on the videos about disaster shelters I find that Shedpack is the most fascinating and effective in terms shelter and if you're evacuating to somewhere safe. Shedpack which is a low-cost disaster pack and emergency shelter backpack. The reasons why I pick Shedpack as most fascinating and effective are mainly due to my personal views. Firstly, the production of shedpack are easy and cheap plus it can be done either on-site or off-side in advance. Next, shedpack is flexible in terms of logistic and it is easy to fold not to mention the stability and durability are top-notch. It can be used as a single-person micro shelter or as single-person raft with its floatable design. Moreover, Shedpack are perfect for aid distribution , spreading vital information and you can even carry cargos as you can close it by only flapping over the top part of the shedpack. Thus you can open the flap in case of a big cargo or vice versa. In contrast to all the benefits of shedpack , the downsides are it is built for a single person not for a family and the comfort can be quiet unacceptable to certain people. Well it all depends on personal taste right :D. All in all, I persoanlly find shedpack as the most captivative designed for disasters solution.

Eco-Friendly Green Bamboo Home

In my opinion , I prefer the Eco-Friendly Bamboo House. Eventhough I picked this Eco-Friendly Green Bamboo Home I likely attratched to what Shigeru Ban said want to include in my feedback . He said "What is permanet and what is a temporary building? Even building made with papers can be permanet as long as people love it." this saying is such a wise word. Proceeding to my point, the eco-friendly green bamboo home is easy to make and as quick as 6 hours to build it. It is fast and convinent to most people. It also does'nt harm the nature and bamboo also grow fast. But in the other hand the disadvantage for this bamboo home is when the area is a urban or place where no bamboo can be found so this alternative ways to build a shelter is not
possible.
