Description: During the time Period from 1400-1750 there was a great shift in cultural developments such as the Colombian Exchange which had brought Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, and other nations to the "New World" (The Americas) which created a new cultural development for the Native Americas that lived there since they were expected to convert to Christianity and to become slaves for land owners in the colonies.

-This had also influenced interaction between cultures since the nations Spain, Portugal, and France colonized other nations in the Americas such as Haiti, Brazil, and Mexico. They inherited French, Portuguese, and Spanish as languages in their nations. This influenced their way of living too with new raw materials being shipped back and force between the nations and colonies.

These ideas spread across all of Europe resulting in Christopher Colombus being sent to find Asia but instead he found the “New world’ in the Americas and labeled the Native Americans “America indian”

Due to traveling around the world, Imperialism and Colonization became a common occurrence due to this. Countries like Great Britain, Spain, France, and Portugal had colonized places in Asia, Africa, and the Americas trying to spread Christianity so they could convert and create trade regions for profit.

After the world wars many nations seeked independence from the imperialist nations that colonized them. These were many revolutions such as the Haitian revolution which was inspired by the French revolution that happened before, the Cuban revolution, and the South African movements were examples of decolonization effects.

Reflection

Ever since the age of imperialism began, so much more of the world was discovered and brought up to become separate and independent nations all around the world due to the many revolutions that occurred over time. This new Age even sparked world wars between “Allied” forces and “Axis” forces during the 20th century. During this time, the industrial revolution had come about in Europe, Asia, and America (Mainly the U.S and Canada). This “revolution” sparked new ideas, inventions, and strategies changing the way of life in many nations. They did not have to rely on heavy labor and slaves anymore since they had machines to do the job and therefore the need for slaves was no more. Countries developed and decolonized eventually leading into the new century with a much changed world. Now historians look back at these previous events and evaluate how these events changed our world.
