What happened is that,King George was in dept,so he decided that he would tax goods like tea and coffee.But the Colonists didn't like that,so they boycotted tea companies so they wouldn't have to pay the tax.But some Colonists formed a group,the Sons of Liberty.This group decided to take action,and dressed up as Native Americans.While they were dressed up,they took action,and pushed off 342 chests of tea from the cargo boat.

   Tea was taxed because King George III,was in debt and needed money. So King  George taxed the Colonists for tea,coffee,etc.
