Maddie + Aaria + Maddy + Riria + Journey
Composition: Braque breaks down form into dissected parts (geometric shapes. Similarly to Picasso's "Girl in the mirror" - 1932, as he also breaks down form into geometric shapes. There is no central vanishing point.
Colour: The colour palette is composed of mainly dark and muted colours

Form: Made out of cube like shapes. This is an influence of Cezannes style who also simplifys objects into geometric shapes.
Depth: The shading around the edges makes the subject matter stand out by adding depth.

Sam, Stella, Arieta, Roshae, Michaela.

Tone: Braque used graduated tones within the art work making the tones break through the boundaries of the other geometrical shapes linking parts together through the tones creating an unexpected rhythm.

Colour: Monochromatic pallet - analytical cubism (early stages of cubism)

Light: He used light and dark shades to create depth within the cubes making them appear three dimensional however the brush strokes are straight and angular making the painting flat

The warm colours of the houses in this work advance whereas the green recedes. He used a monochromatic colour palette of brown and green to create a tonal range that is unnaturalistic. Braque has experimented with Cezanne's use of flattening form into simple, geometric shapes. The brightness of the houses in the foreground in contrast to those nearer the top of the painting create spatial depth and illusion.

Hannah
