Thank you to all the Teachers for your hard work during this period as you update assignments daily and prepare all sorts of different activities like for PE, art and music, and especially to Mr Simon Raj, Ms Ellene Chew and Ms Thang whose lessons I also “sit in” and listen to, to take the extra effort to take your lessons online during such a short notice and to make it lively and interactive for all the students. We sense your love and care for the students as you interact with them almost daily. It’s indeed challenging to manage a class of 30 more little ones in class, what more on an online platform where there are more distractions at home than in school, on top of your caring for your own schooling children.

Kudos to you Teachers and the principal, Mrs Lim, who also stepped out to give our children online hugs and encouragement via the SLS. Thank you for your love and care for the students during this period. Do have a good break during the May holidays. May you and your family stay safe and God bless!

A very big THANK YOU to all teachers for their hard work and efforts in getting the students for HBL lessons(logins, what to do, what to expect etc), putting up interesting online lesson plans/ activities in great details at a very short notice, and ensuring that lessons are moving smoothly via the fully offsite/online teaching approach.

It takes lots of persistence to meticulously consolidate, monitor (and chase!) assignments, even staying up late at night to complete markings to check that students are progressing on track while adjusting to the new teaching methodology and attending to family's needs.

It is not easy to multi task but you managed to pull it off!

Special thanks to Mrs Emily Chin, who diligently conducted interesting live teaching over Zoom every day throughout the period. I want to thank my teachers for their time to prepare teaching materials for HBL. I really enjoyed the online videos, especially the Science, music and CCE, they shared in SLS. This way of learning piques my curiousity to learn new topics. I greatly appreciate the self-recorded audio videos by Mrs Seah and 钟老师. The videos were very clear and helped me to pace my daily learning for maths and chinese. Mrs Seah is always so patient and makes sure we understand the concept behind the maths question before we move on. I also learnt to be patient during zoom lessons and wait for my turn to speak. It was fun attending the zoom lessons set by Mr Chan and Mrs Seah regularly so I can still see my friends. It's very nice to see my friends and say hi to them. During HBL, I learnt new computer skills like scanning my homework, uploading it on google classroom and checking my daily work schedule prepared daily. I also learnt the basics of composing songs from the lessons posted on SLS and is inspired by Mrs Yap's song (the song for the healthcare workers)
I appreciate all teachers for your dedication and making my HBL experience really memorable. Thank you all again, and stay safe and healthy. Do remember to drink plenty of water!

I would like to express my sincere thanks to teachers for making this HBL successful. They were racing against time to prepare printed documents for students before HBL started; setting up IT platform for homework submissions and also solving IT issues which beyond their job scope.

Special thanks to our form teacher Ms Chew for sending parents introduction video and information of Zoom, various way to scan printed documents to soft copy, making life lessons very interesting by introducing the Kahoot session.

Thank you to Mrs Judy Lim for reminding students for daily temperature submissions and of course the interactive Zoom lessons.

It was certainly no easy feat to explore, embrace and put into place new pedagogies over such a short span of time, but the ALPS educators made it happen! Forced by unanticipated measures warranted to curb the spread of COVID-19, everyone rose to the occasion to make it work despite being placed on an accelerated learning curve. After one month of HBL, not only did we survive, we can all proudly say that we have grown as a community and also become stronger together. Thanks to all the teachers who worked day and night beyond their regular hours, venturing outside of their comfort zone to make the online classroom come alive. Not forgetting those who worked quietly behind the scene as enablers too. Special shout-out to Mrs Lam and Mrs Ng of 1 Creativity for keeping an extra lookout for the newbies of ALPS who have only recently settled into primary school life. Crystal Faith and Ryan were naturally curious with the new technology and connected easily with it. They looked forward to every Zoom and Google Meet lesson, and played the quizzes designed by the teachers over and over again.

Thank you teachers for your time and effort to make HBL an engaging experience for the children with various quizzes, videos, games etc, tracking who had not uploaded their work, marking their work online and your prompt response on class dojo messages in the midst of zoom meetings. The HBL has certainly opened our (and our kids') eyes to the various tools out there which we would otherwise not have known about (zoom, google classroom, Flipgrid, Nearpod, etc etc. You must have spent a lot of time researching and exploring these tools and developing the lesson content while juggling with the needs of your immediate family too. Kudos to you teachers for your effort. Have a good May holiday break.

I hear burning the midnight oil and burning the candle on both ends have become de rigueur amongst our teachers.

Our children wake up to lessons that have been carefully planned and painstakingly videod. What a Herculean effort by all ALPS teachers and staff!

I have a child in Secondary school (proud ALPS graduate!) and another in P4. The divide between the two cannot be greater.

Our primary students require so much more support. Thank you for being with them, faithfully through HBL.

This May, may your own children and families enjoy your company and attention.

Words cannot express how grateful we as a family are to the dedicated teachers and School for the efforts you have all gone through during this CB to help our children cope with their studies and adjusting to the HBL programme. The hours you have put in has obviously taken up most of your days yet observing the video interactions with my son and the class the teachers always cane across positive and friendly resulting in pleasant experiences fir the kids. We often look at our own difficulties in life and fail to recognise how others face obstacles and tough situations. Teachers are one of the few professions not fully credited for the gifts they bestow upon our children. Thank you to all my teachers who have put in so much efforts into making online learning as interesting as the face to face classes. It's a new experience going through HBL with online assignments and electronic submission of homework. The teachers have definitely taught us new skills.

I am especially grateful to my Chinese teacher, Mr Yeo, who tirelessly sends out reminders and feedback to ensure I am aware of the assignments given, how to retrieve content and submit homework. My Math teacher, Mrs Seah was also very patient to send me scanned copies of the homework as I did not have my workbook with me. My Science teacher, Ms Aishah also called to check if I was able to catch up on the online assignments.

Being an essential worker i struggled with keeping a balance between my work and HBL. We are being force to change our status quo and ALPS teachers made it seem so easy. But I know that behind the scenes, there were lots of efforts & dedications put in to make this possible.

Our ALPS teachers have been very creative in planning the lessons. Apart from the academic area, there are quizzes, riddles, videos, teacher's own recordings, organise Zoom/ Google Meet to encourage discussions, and give the children an opportunity to catch up with their friends. They were so excited during those sessions, since they have not been going out and meeting their friends. They miss their friends, even the teachers so much! 😥

Also it is very thoughtful of the school leader to record that inspiring video for their students! 😊👍

It is really not easy for everyone to stay at home for so long, juggling between work, children, our own private time. We are going to start the school holiday soon but i believe the teachers will still be busy. I just want to sincerely thank them for their hard work, patience and dedication. It's really not easy to be a teacher these days. Hang in there!

When we came to know about HBL I wondered how it will be , how will lessons be carried out? And when we started the first two days was some online work where kids finished on their own and i really thought its easy..

But moving on Week 2 onwards when we started having live lessons (getting the whole class together, patiently waiting for everyone to come in and then having that 45 mins staring the screen ), SLS packages, Homework, i realized this is not as easy as we think it is to just click and go inside a Zoom lesson or open an assignment and finish it. There was much more to it and i am just wondering how much hardwork our Teachers would have put in to make it happen .

Taking up a new topic on Zoom, sending video recordings, marking the work, they even did not miss out on Spellings and took it by recording which again is a lot of work. From setting up a google drive to Yo teach. For them i guess it was only staring at the screen for the whole time they are working which sounds so difficult. Teachers have made this HBL so flawless and I am not very surprised as i knew they really could do it..

I appreciate everything they have done for kids to make sure learning goes on. There were no doubts some hicupps along the way.. lessons disruption due to network issues etc (they sent recordings) But teachers solved it all .Once again I thank the Teachers for this smooth sailing .

Teachers, you have been amazing - adopting and adjusting yourselves to a “new” norm and do what you need to do. It has been challenging, and you did it!

HBL Zoomed past, glamorously (or not?) with square boxes connecting curious explorers. It has been fun! What an experience, to both the teachers and the learners. A steep learning curve, and you did it!

An extraordinary holidays, not sure if you get to really rest, but just do your best! There’s a lot more to do when the kids are back in place.. (ops, sorry to remind you)
