Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw

Pages Read Today:
1-4 Pages

Today, I checked out this book in the series of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I know this series since I was 8. I remember watching the movies and reading one of the books in the series.

In the first chapter of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw, the main character name Greg who lives with his two brothers, Rodrick his older one, and Manny, his younger one. He also lives with his Mom and Dad. Besides that, in the first chapter, it's New Years Day. Greg talks about how he doesn't have any resolutions since he thinks that he's perfect self of him already. But sometimes, everyone don't always stick to their resolutions. Greg's family did this as well, didn't even last for a month.

First, his Mom said she was going to go to the gym more often probably everyday but today, Greg saw her just sitting on the couch for the whole afternoon watching TV. Also, his father said he was going on a strict diet, but Greg saw him eating brownies in the garage after dinner. Lastly, Manny said since he's a big boy now, he's going to give up his binkie and pacifier as well. But within under a minute, he went back into the garbage can to get his favorite binkie and pacifier.

But what about Rodrick? Rodrick didn't have any resolutions. But Greg believes he should have a half of a mile long list since Rodrick is always messing with him and that annoys Greg. So, Greg is giving Rodrick a "3 Strikes and You're Out" so, anything unkind he does, he gets a strike. Before he could even explain to him, Rodrick got his three strikes from punching him 3 times. Greg doesn't know what he's going to do now with his family.

After reading this part of the chapter, I am concerned for the mother. I vaguely remember that someone of the main cast does pass away but I can't remember who. Protagonist's mother has obtained a "normal fever" as the doctor said. But that night, after doing what the doctor told Mattie and Eliza to do, the mother seems to be getting worse. Her eyes have strings of red and yellow. Plus, the mother was coughing up blood. Doesn't seem like a normal fever to me.

Friday, Feburary 19
Dragon Ball Super Vol 3
Story by Akira Toriyama
Art by Toyotarou
Genre: Fighting, Action, Science fiction, manga
Pages Read: 63

So I am reading the 3rd volume of Dragon Ball Super. So to summarize, Dragon Ball Super is the sequel to the manga series, Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball Super takes place right after Goku defeated Buu back in Z, and so Goku has to go against new enemies and fight in tournaments once again.

So in the 3rd volume, I read up to when Zamasu and Gowasu were trying to leave Planet Babari until Zamasu killed one of the inhabitants and then shortly after he killed his own master to become immortal. With the Kaioshin knowing about this, it is up to Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks to defeat not only Zamasu but also Goku Black, who is Zamasu but with Goku's body and power. So my favorite part of this volume was when Goku Black turned Super Saiyan. What surprises me is that in the anime, Goku Black doesn't turn into a Super Saiyan but he could only go Super Saiyan Rose.
