We deliver a dynamic programme of simulation-based education (SBE) across the Trust, including general paediatrics, paediatric specialities, neonatology, paediatric surgery, collaborative simulations with the Paediatric Emergency Department, and research-focused and multidisciplinary sessions. Alongside this, we facilitate regular practical skills teaching for both medical and nursing teams and contribute to induction programmes and dedicated training days.  

Our work is closely aligned with key stakeholders, including medical and nurse educators, the Leeds Inpatient Outreach Nursing (LIONs) team, the deteriorating patient group, patient safety and quality teams, sepsis and infection control groups and the Resident Doctors’ Forum. This partnership ensures that our simulations are clinically relevant, responsive to service needs, and aligned with patient safety priorities. 

 Simulation-based learning is widely recognised within UK healthcare education as an effective approach to improving clinical performance, confidence, teamwork, and preparedness in a safe and supportive environment.
