~when I started singing the song, some of the kids knew the song and started reacting and doing the moves.

~ the challenges when doing this song is getting the kids to stop jumping when I’m singing and letting them use their hands.

~ what I would do differently is explaining to them on how we use our hands instead of jumping

I let the kids sing head and shoulders knees and toes.
I knew the kids were engaged because they sang and did the dance moves with me
1 challenge I experienced was trying to gather all the children to one area because a lot of them wanted to run around and not pay attention to me.
Next time, I would try to get their attention by making it sound more fun so that they don’t run around and try to get them to pay attention to me.

The Wheels on The Bus

When I sang ‘The Wheels on The Bus’ with the kids, the kids who knew the song well, started to sing along and do the actions with me.

The challenge when I did this was with the new and shy kids because they sat there looking around at everyone else, sometimes they kind of danced along but not really.

I think I would encourage the quieter kids more to join in with us next time

When i was a baby

When I want the children to listen i say “ children, listen up” then i make them go to the circle time rug, sit them down and explain what I’m going to do.

I will tell them that we are going to sing the song “ when i was a baby” what I learnt when i first started working as an ECE;

We sing the song in English first and then inuktitut.

what i will do next time. I will teach them with our hands and any physical movements.

I chose the Baby Shark to lead the activity
The children knows the lyrics and the dance to the music
No challenge as they know what they were doing
Let them to do it on their own.

I tell the kids to come to the circle. Let them know we are going to sing the a,b,c song.

Sometimes kids don’t listen and challenging but they all come to the circle.

I know all kids engaged knowing they all sang.

I would wait until all kids paying attention.
