Wade befriends Art3mis and has feelings for her. They go to a dance club to find the second key. Wade confesses and spills his real name. The Sixers/IOI ambush them and fail. Art3mis gets angry at Wade for liking her and telling her his real name.

Sorrento tries to tempt Wade with money to win the contest for him. Wade rejects the idea so Sorrento destroys his house with his aunt and her boyfriend still in it.

Wade gets kidnapped in the real world and meets Art3mis who reveals her name is Samantha and because Sorrento knows who Wade is, she decides to hide him.

Wade, Samantha, Aech, Daito, and Sho play through the Shining and get the second key. 

IOI finds Samantha's hideout and forces Wade to escape by himself. Wade, Aech, Daito, and Sho team together to try and save Samantha. They duplicate Sorrento's office to make him think he's in the real world while trying to get information out of him. Their plans fail since Sorrento picked up on their game avatars' reflection. However they manage to free Samantha from the pod she was trapped in.
