         <description><![CDATA[<div>after 3 years of the war, the US, South Korea, and North Korea agreed to armistice(an agreement to stop fighting) that brought the war to an end. One of the effects were that a lot of civilians ended up dead, wounded and missing. Another effect was that the war was disastrous for all of Korea and destroyed most of its military. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Invasion of South Korea, June 25th, 1950-<br>-North Korean forces invade South Korea with the intention of reunifying as one nation under communism&nbsp;<br><br>Landings at Inchon, September 1950-<br>-because of the large amount of ground North Korea had claimed in South Korean territory, a UN commander committed a daring mission; SK forces were deployed to a port on the South Korean coast held by North Korea to retaliate against their advances<br><br>China's intervention, November 1950-&nbsp;<br>once the UN forces managed to infiltrate well into Northern soil, China began to deploy their troops and push back the south<br><br>The Battle of the Imjin River, April 22nd, 1951-<br>China joined in the war and raised the death toll, in addition to many PoWs. This forced the UN to retreat back to the south, but they managed to resemble and prevent China from advancing to Seoul<br><br>Armistice, July 27th, 1953-<br>An agreement of truce was created between North and South Korea after two years of negotiation, through this did not cause a means for peace between the two</div>]]></description>
