Adolf Hitler and his Nazi party were upset about the Treaty of Versailles because the country had to pay hundreds of millions of reparations from the war. He and his party eventually broke the treaty in 1983. They argued that the treaty made the country militarily weak and only promised to uphold it if other countries demilitarized. They directly broke the treaty by moving German troops into a demilitarized zone called Rhineland and by invading Austria.  
Plans? Hitler and the Nazi Party had a plan called the "Final Solution." 
Targeting? This plan included the wiping of the Jewish population in Europe and other minorities as well. They had a vendetta against Jewish people because they were the bankers who collected the reparations that all Germans had to pay. They were seen as the direct enemy, causing a lot of malice towards that demographic. 
Effects? The Nazi Party killed about 6 million Jewish people in concentration camps. This devastated the already small Jewish global population and created a lot of global backlash from other countries. The New Deal was a series of reforms enacted by the U.S. president Franklin D. Roosevelt between the years 1933 and 1939. It was the government's response to the Great Depression, the most devastating temporary economic collapse the country had ever seen.
Relief? These reforms offered relief for people that was in immediate crisis because of the Great Depression. The New Deal offered new jobs, bread lines, and welfare for struggling families.
Recovery? The New Deal played a significant role in ending the Great Depression. Because of the government spending programs, hundreds of millions of people were now employed. They were employed by the government to build up new infrastructure like roads, buildings, and other public projects.
Reform? The New Deal set into motion a large reconstruction of the American landscape. Most of the roads, buildings, and railways we see today were a result of the large amount of newly employed workers after the Great Depression. In the long run, the New Deal built up the financial society we have today as well. It developed the beginning of the labor movement, sustained millions of Americans' purchasing power, and widened wage growth. After the Paris Peace Conference, China was infuriated that it was not given the land that it was promised. Plans? They wanted to turn China into a communist country. They would do this by empowering the peasants of China, who made up the vast majority of the population, instead of the working class like Russia did.

Targeting? They were targeting the Nationalist Party and the Allied Powers for giving the land they wanted to Japan. The Chinese Communist Party fought with the Nationalist Party, and started the Long March where Mao and the remnants of the Communist Party trained and fought the Nationalist Party. They were extremely weak after this, but they continued to fight and spread their ideals which led to them winning control over the country.

Effects? China is now a communist country because of the support among peasants and the disdain for the Nationalist Party.

The Nationalist Party wanted to free China of foreign domination and overthrow the warlords that had control of parts of China. They also did not trust the Communist Party which then later led to a civil war and the Long March in China.

Plans? Sun Yatsen wanted to industrialize China, and free it from the grievances stated above, with the help of Mao. After Sun Yatsen died and Chiang Kaishek took control of the party, he also wanted to destroy the Communist Party.

Targeting? They were targeting the growing Communist Party, foreign powers (like Europe), and warlords in China. During the Civil War, Chiang ruled over China because the Communist Party retreated on the Long March. He alienated people, supported Confucianism even through old traditions were losing support, and when people criticized him, he suppressed free speech.

Effects? Because Chiang did what he did during his rule over China, he lost all the support for the Nationalist Party, and the Communist Party won control of the country.

During the war, Brazil was referred to as Latin America's "sleeping giant" because of it's slow shift from an agricultural to an industrial economy. This made the land owners have control over the economy. This coupled with workers in Brazil, who were suffering from the Great Depression, lead to a bloodless coup in 1930 which made Getulio Vargas as president.

How do the steps that Vargas takes compare to those of other totalitarian rulers at the time? His rule was extremely similar to Italian totalitarian rule and had European fascists policies he did not praise or rely on violence to get and keep control over the country.
