A zoetrope is one of several pre-film animation devices that produce the illusion of motion by displaying a sequence of drawings or photographs showing progressive phases of that motion. The zoetrope is a cylinder with slits cut vertically in the sides. On the inside of the cylinder is a band with images from a set of sequenced pictures. As the cylinder spins, the user looks through the slits at the pictures across, this causes the images to look as if they are moving.

Flick books

A flip book or flick book is a book with a series of multiple pictures that gradually change from one page to the next, so that when the pages are turned or flicked rapidly, the pictures appear to animate by simulating motion.

The praxinoscope

With our TV Ident we have a man kicking a ball towards the camera, the ball will then spin around and show the name of the channel, FC TV. while making the models for the Ident we had no bumps, everything went smoothly. As we started to animate and film we realised it will be harder than expected but persevered, we had a few if not a lot of bumps, for example when the ball leaves the ground how will we show the ball in the air, also when the footballer has to kick the ball he stands on one leg and he kept on falling over. but the finale product turned out to be okay some aspects could be better but we couldn't do anything about the faults in the animation.

My team members were Jayne, George and myself. we all had roles to play, we each made things out of clay for the animation. When we started to animate we all had tasks to do, I had to man the camera, George had to move the clay objects, i also had to do that as George had to leave us at the end to redo his padlet, Jayne made sure everything was correct and in place. The team worked very well together, everyone contributed and everyone had a specific role to play. We all conducted ourselves well and professionally.

If i could go back i would change how we moved the ball in the air, i think our final product looks good but when the ball is in the air it looks amateur. Thats all i would change because i think the rest of the product is good.

The sound quality was really good and went really well with the Ident. The crowds cheering went really well with clip and the volume of it was perfect. I wouldn't do anything to change the sound exempt maybe add some music to it, other that the sound is perfect, in my opinion.

I learned that claymation is an effective way of animation that isn't to difficult and i think this could be a good thing to use in future productions.

We communicated all the time and gave each other ideas to help improve our final production. we would talk to each other about any ideas, or tell each other about things to change.
