3 things that I'm most curious about Mass Communication:
1) Can a company be successful without public relations? Why?
2) Why do companies still invest so much in online advertisements nowadays when people usually skip ads the second they pop up on the screen?
3) How will cable services/ satellite TV companies survive if Netflix airs all the same shows as theirs one day?

Gen Z believes that in the next 5 years, user-generated content (UGC) will have more credibility than content created by a company or independent source. In the near future, smartphone usage will lead to an increase in the number of consumers who prefer to watch UGC on mobile phones. Gen Z’s attention is most effectively attracted by brand influencers, Youtubers or content creators who post authentic UGC. In my opinion, the future of e-commerce heavily depends on UGC for companies to boost sales as consumers are more likely to trust a company if it uses actual customers in its ads. Customers’ reviews are equally important as they trust recommendations from others, even if it’s people they don’t know. Even UGC videos on Youtube get 10x more views than content uploaded by the actual brand.

1. Will movie theatres still exist in 2030? How do you envision the film watching experience in the near future?
Yes because cinemas increasingly create an experience that cannot be digitally replicated. I envision film screenings being augmented by live performances or VR that provides a new exhibition for the cinema experience.
2. The major broadcast networks have been losing viewers for the past two decades. Will they still be relevant 10 years from now? Why or why not
No, because global streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon and Apple TV will dominate the market.

It provides easy access, all you need is Internet connection on a device. Besides, it has a better sound quality compared to traditional radio as the signal is 100% digital and streaming will not be affected by tuning problems due to frequency.
