Mrs. Hattie Phillips was a truly special teacher, and I feel so lucky to have been in her third-grade class. Her kindness and warmth made every student feel welcome and valued. Her classroom was our favorite place to hang out whenever we could! She truly embodied the spirit of Punahou – you could feel her love for the school and her students in everything she did. She left a lasting impact on me, and she is deeply missed but never forgotten.

I was fortunate to have Mr. Messer in my senior year. He taught composition. I learned that lots of fancy words is not the best way to write. He believed simple and concise was best. I use this as a guideline to this day.

Mahalo to Punahou English teachers whose creativity and passion steered me toward majoring in English in college, influenced my career path and inspired a lifelong love of reading. Art Moss, Paul Berry, Webb Caye. Shoutout to Dean Tom Metcalf for keeping us all in line. And thank you to Greg Puppione and the Eldredge 'ohana for helping to steer my children into the future.

I appreciate and have always appreciated our dean, Mr. Metcalf. Who just turned 101 and is seen here at the Class of 1984's 50th birthday party at the Pacific Club. Keep on truckin', Tiger Tom! You rock!

So grateful for my 7th grade teachers (especially my homeroom teacher, Ms. Ah Sing), who made me feel so welcome and at ease during my first year at Punahou. Fast forward to today - where I am watching my daughter thrive during her first years at Punahou. Mahalo to all of the Case Middle School teachers and staff who work tirelessly to ensure our students have a nurturing environment to learn and make memories! 💛💙

Merci M. Dozois! If it weren't for his contagious positivity, his joy of teaching and the French language, and his zest for life, I would not have gone on to major in French. What a beautiful human he was.

Our keiki are so blessed to have teachers who are so invested in them, not just academically but fully; who allow families to come in to share experiences, creating key moments that become memories that our keiki will carry forward with them.

Middle School Rocks!!!

I truly can’t thank my middle school teachers enough for everything they’ve given me. Whether it was in the science classroom with Mrs. RL as we prepared for the 7th-grade cardboard boat race, in the 8Z team space with Ms. LM learning her wonderful mindfulness techniques, or on stage with Mrs. Patton and Ms. Scanlan in choir, each and every experience meant so much to me. 🎵

I feel so incredibly grateful to have had such supportive teachers and amazing friends guiding me every step of the way. Those memories are deeply ingrained in my heart, and I will always carry them with me. ♥️ I also absolutely LOVE that Ms. Scanlan has a YouTube channel where I can revisit some of my favorite performances! 🤩
