While I agree with the fact that the electoral college has too much power over the voting, I feel that it shouldn't be abolished as it does carry some benefits. The electoral college helps us to see the insight of the government on who they believe should be in charge of our country. However, they do seem to carry more power than the voters, which I believe should be changed, as otherwise, voting is rendered pointless. Another thing I should point out, is that some states have more representatives than others. In my opinion, each state should be given equal representation in the electoral college if it were to stay

The Electoral College is a system that has worked for hundreds of years and should stay. The reason why it should stay is because larger states get more votes based on population and smaller states get less votes based on population. The smaller populated states still get a say in the election. Some might say that that "The Winner takes all" is not fair, but it is because some political party is the majority of the state and should represent the entire state. Another may say that voting for electors(people who vote for president) isn't representing the people. It is because your voting for the electors who end up voting for who you want. These are just a few reasons why the electoral college should stay for many years to come.

Ethan Bohlen, The electoral collage should be kept because it has been like that for years and it has worked just fine we have gotten this far so wh abolish it, it has worked for so long that there would be absolutely no reason to change it or abolish it.

Anonymous 22h
Austin Garriott, I don't think that it can even stay the same without everything being ruined. Times have changed a lot since it was made and I think by the time you are allowed to vote you will be smart enough to make your own decisions along with everyone else. If we don't change it at all then we won't have enough power to even say who our president is.

Anonymous 22h
Zarek Carroll, I believe it should stay the same because it makes it fair because it makes it to were there's not as much focus on one thing such as bigger states majorities like white people because why would they care about minorities if there just that the minorities.

Anonymous 14h
Makyla Anderson: The electoral college should not be kept exactly the way it is it was made a really long time ago and so much stuff has changed over the years so some moderations to it should be made.

Anonymous 2h
Lainee Davis- I agree with number 1 because the electoral college has been working for years and i don't see why it needs to change now.

Anonymous 2h
Ashley Fenimore I agree with the electoral college staying the way it is because it provides a easier way to collectively vote as a state

Anonymous 2h

Makyla Anderson: Yes, there are some things about the electoral college that okay are for example it gives the minority’s a voice and a say in stuff but there should be quite a few changes in it and one is one vote in one state could be greater or less than one vote in another and that isn’t fair at all

Anonymous 2h
Ashley Fenimore: I think the winner take all system could be improved to represent the peoples votes.

Anonymous 2h
I think the Electoral College is okay, but the winner takes all system should be changed. -Heather A. Heilpern

Kylar Kurtz: here are the reasons I disagree: 1) if we didn't have the college, it would take ages for us to collect the votes and count them. 2) The college has a good system where it is balanced between popular and unpopular giving the candidates a fair chance.

Anonymous 22h
I disagree because we have had this system for this long and of we change it it will get people mixed up on what to do and how to do it.

Anonymous 24h
I disagree the electoral college can prevent states with higher population from having the advantage. And it forces candidates to visit more of the country.

Anonymous 12h
I agree, the electoral college was only intended for smaller populations to get more votes like 1.5 more electoral votes than a regular one, so bigger states don't even get a chance, as the smaller states get twice the power. -Seth.L

While I agree, I instead believe that the smaller states should be given a larger say in terms of the electors. Since they don't have a higher population, they are given less representation, which isn't exactly fair to the people of the community.

The popular voting gives smaller states a chance to have an impact on the outcome of the results. The Electoral College system prevents this because larger states will have a bigger impact based on population, so it wouldn't be fair to states like New Hampshire or Rhode Island with smaller populations.

I believe that the electoral votes should stay, but there are some things that should be changed or updated. I believe this because it does help keep larger state's votes leveled so that the smaller populated states aren't lost in the back, but we need to change some factors of the Electoral Colleges so all area of the U.S. can have a say

I personally agree with taking away the electoral college but not fully. A reason that supports this is because of unfair treatment. The people of Puerto Rico ,Guam,The US virgin islands and America Samoa are all american citizens. they should have a right to vote. All together they have up to 4 million votes.

Ethan Bohlen, The electoral collage should be kept because it has been like that for years and it has worked just fine we have gotten this far so wh abolish it, it has worked for so long that there would be absolutely no reason to change it or abolish it.

Anonymous 1d
Austin Garriott, I don't think that it can even stay the same without everything being ruined. Times have changed a lot since it was made and I think by the time you are allowed to vote you will be smart enough to make your own decisions along with everyone else. If we don't change it at all then we won't have enough power to even say who our president is.

I disagree because the Electoral College might have many flaws, but it has kept our country intact and, so fa,r the way the votes are weighted, the Electoral College hasn't let us down yet. Brooklyn E

T.R It makes the people who weren't in the popular vote not have a say.

Austin Garriott, I don't think so. There are multiple things that could be considered unfair that need to be changed if we want a fair system.

This is why I believe that the electoral college should be given less power. Otherwise, the government would have too much power over the votes.

Anonymous 2h
I disagree, it is way to keep voting simple. I we did not have the college, we would have to collect everyone in the U.S's (including the illegal immigrants) votes, which would take months. ( kylar)

Kylar Kurtz: here are the reasons I disagree: 1) if we didn't have the college, it would take ages for us to collect the votes and count them. 2) The college has a good system where it is balanced between popular and unpopular giving the candidates a fair chance.
