         <description><![CDATA[<div>Surveyor 3 was a lander and launched April 17 of 1967. It made further progress into putting humans onto the moon. It studied the lunar soil and gathered information on the soils radar reflectivity. It also conducted experiments to see how it would do with the weight of the Apollo lunar module.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>ABOUT THE MISSION<br></strong>The Mars Science Laboratory mission's Curiosity rover, the most technologically advanced rover ever built, landed in Mars' Gale Crater the evening of August 5, 2012<br>Curiosity's mission is to determine whether the Red Planet ever was, or is, habitable to microbial life. The rover, which is about the size of a MINI Cooper, is equipped with 17 cameras and a robotic arm containing a suite of specialized laboratory-like tools and instruments. I chose this because in my opinion this was the most interesting.</div>]]></description>

It was launched on May 30, 1966 and landed on the moon on June 2, 1966. Surveyor 1 was extremely successful, taking over 11,000 pictures and measurements of the moon.  Surveyor 1's mission ended on January 7, 1967, and went down in history as a major success for NASA.</div>]]></description>
