I could use the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework to help guide the development of more accessible and flexible learning experiences within my professional context at TAFE NSW. The framework could support the design of hybrid and digitally enabled learning environments that provide learners with multiple ways to access content, engage with learning and demonstrate understanding.

I could also use the TPACK framework to help educators consider the relationship between pedagogy, content knowledge and technology when designing learning experiences. This would help ensure that technology integration supports meaningful learning outcomes rather than simply adding digital tools into the learning environment.

I use the SAMR framework as a reflective guide to distinguish between technology that simply substitutes or enhances existing practice, and technology that meaningfully transforms learning through modification or redefinition. For example, in English this might move from writing essays in a shared document (augmentation) to redesigning an assessment where students collaboratively build, critique, and publish personal interpretations of a text for an authentic audience (redefinition).

I could use the TPACK framework to guide future technology use by ensuring that any digital tool is tightly aligned with disciplinary knowledge and sound pedagogy, rather than adopted for convenience or novelty. In teaching English, this could involve using collaborative annotation tools to deepen literary analysis, and as a professional learning leader, it could mean designing shared inquiry sessions where teachers use digital platforms to examine student work, build collective knowledge about practice, and reflect on how technology meaningfully supports learning in their subjects.

I could use Universal Design for Learning to guide the development of technology-enabled learning in my aged care VET/RTO context. Many learners come with different levels of digital confidence, language and literacy skills, access to devices, work commitments, family responsibilities and placement pressures.

UDL would help me design learning that is more accessible and flexible from the beginning, rather than trying to adjust it later. For example, mobile learning resources could include short videos, plain English explanations, audio, checklists, visual prompts, scenarios, and opportunities for trainer feedback.

In aged care training, this is important because learners need to build confidence with communication, dignity of care, judgement and workplace readiness. UDL would help make sure digital learning supports different learners without lowering expectations or removing the need for authentic assessment.

I use UDL in my everyday practice, as a high school teacher in a Catholic College that caters for all learners in one space. This is the preferred method of learning as it requires differentiation for students. UDL is often thought as being standard across education, however the impacts of not providing this can be longl asting.

I want to embed this into my everyday teaching as I feel that this will relate to my context in a meaningful way. I guess the hesitation is learning the various technologies and understanding how it can have a meaningful impact on student learning. This feels very student-centred and access the higher order Blooms taxonomy levels that we are trying to achieve to prepare the students for life after high school.
