This movie tied everything together for me with technology and music. I can thank Giorgio Moroder for such artistry with the synth and composition of the soundtrack for this movie, he wrote the vast majority of the tracks, including the hit song 'Together in Electric Dreams'. The movie and music were both well ahead of their time and evidence to this is the fact that the music style and movie premise is still being copied in modern movies and the music of today.

The industry standard tools of the DJ trade. I saved up for over a year to buy a pair of these and a mixer. Once I was a proud owner I then spent many, many hours botching mixes until I nailed a basic level of beat-matching. Thus began my career into DJing at parties and nightclubs and fostered my discovery of music from a new perspective. Turntables allowed me to revive and appreciate old music by crate digging in thrift stores and uncovering some magical old artists and records from other eras.

Everyone will probably know one of their most popular songs 'September' (which was made even more popular by the Phatts and Small remix in 1999). I certainly loved the original and also gained further love from the remix. I have to thank Phats and Small for their influences prompting me to explore more of Earth, Wind & Fire. I bought their old records for a few dollars at thrift stores and embarked on a complete disco discovery. The musicality was astounding, these guys were prolific musicians, had fun doing what they did and in my opinion, epitomised disco music with their positive messages and extremely funky beats that you just couldn't help to shake it to.

From an early age, I would steal this record from my Dad's collection and play it over and over. I absolutely loved the Bee Gees via this album and it was essentially my first direct exposure to disco music at least on my own accord. I subsequently recorded the album onto a tape and eventually wore that tape out.
