Video Camera
To create our thriller opening sequence the camera we used was a 1080p camera, meaning that we were able to record parts of our thriller opening in any type of weather. As a group we'd decided to use this due to the fact the recorded film would be high quality. Although we used a camera we also used a tripod, a tape, and a dolly track. We used a tripod so that it would keep the camera stable so was not to have the film shaky and messy. We learnt how to use a tripod so to help us film, along with the other equipment listed. Some of the things we struggled with was the video tapes, and the dolly. With the tapes, we struggled with the taping of the films because whilst filming, we had no way of telling where the tape would end, or if we were even recording over footage we'd taped previously. On a few occasions my group had realized that we'd filmed over some important footage and then needed to record it again. Another problem we face was with the dolly, and when recording some walking shots, the dolly's tracks were in the way, which proved to be difficult.

Editing Software

Once we'd finished the filming of our opening we decided to take the footage and put it into a program called final cut pro where by we started the editing process. The thing I learnt through doing this was how to use the software and do some editing whilst the rest of my group did the remaining editing. Whilst we did the cropping of the original footage and adding the selected effects it came to be somewhat challenging because the picking and the choosing of what footage we'd use, it was tricky to also find the clips on the tape. Final cut pro offered a brilliant platform to work on and do the making of our thriller opening sequence. Adding text, effects, changing clips gradually got easier and easier whilst working with the program.

Another program I used to create the music was garage band, I spent a few hours creating the music on garage band, the process of finding clips and fitting them together in itself was a huge challenge. Although I'd spent a few years using the software it was a challenge finding the right sounds to fit in with the theme of my thriller opening.
