It can be accessed through an iPad or computer. The students can take pictures, draw, record their voice, etc to provide evidence of learning. Standards based goals are used to help determine what the learners are working towards. Each quarter, there are new goals added to the progression. The teacher marks which goals have been met through conferencing. During independent work time or centers, the learner can take the binder and practice skills that aren't mastered. Sight words, math facts, counting, writing numbers, etc are included in the binder. At the beginning of the year, students brainstorm needs to happen to make our second grade classroom effective for learning. These become the goals we reflect on as a class and individually. Students reflect on their goals daily. They get a star for any goals that are "part of who they are" and no longer need to work on.
