Standards based goals are used to help determine what the learners are working towards. Each quarter, there are new goals added to the progression. The teacher marks which goals have been met through conferencing. During independent work time or centers, the learner can take the binder and practice skills that aren't mastered. Sight words, math facts, counting, writing numbers, etc are included in the binder. When the learner thinks he/she is ready to prove they have mastered the new goal, a conference is scheduled with the teacher.
