The main idea is that "Model Minority" is not only hurt Asian Americans but also other minorities. As an example, Amy states that White used "Model Minority" against black protests. (Uyematsu 422) According to Amy, people in power used such stereotypes to cover up the fact that some Asian Americans are making a lower annual income comparing to blacks and whites. (Uyematsu 424) One solution she purposes is that the "yellow power" movement to seek freedom from racial oppression and control the decision-making processes affecting their lives.
