1) Describe your rehearsal.

In rehearsal, we worked on using physical theatre techniques such as lifts and by round and through. We also worked on transitions; the transitions needed to be quick and quiet.

2) What was the aim of this rehearsal?

The aim of this rehearsal was to ensure that as I was being lifted I was safe and there was not a risk of hurting me. For example, when I was lifted one time someones hand was in a bad position and i told them and we sorted it out by having them have their hand in a different, stable position.

3) What were the group strengths from this rehearsal? (Remember to link your answer to your rehearsal aim.)

The group strengths from this rehearsal; everybody worked as an ensemble to make sure that I was comfortable when I was being lifted and make sure that I trusted them as a whole.

4) What could you personally have improved on in this rehearsal? (Remember to link your answer to your rehearsal aim.)

Personally, I could have trusted my peers more with holding my body in the air and walking with me in the arms

5) Did you feedback to each other after the rehearsal? If so, how did you act on cast feedback to enhance your contribution and performance?

We did feedback to each other after the rehearsal. Some of my peers told me that I needed to trust my peers more and had to let my whole body weight fall on them to allow flexibility. I also told them that they had to hold me tighter because I felt that I was going to fall.

6) How did you act on director’s feedback to enhance your contribution and performance?

When I was told to put more effort in to make my character more believable I raised my voice more and exaggerated my expressions more.

7) Did everyone know their lines? Explain what you could have done to help actors who struggle with their lines?

Not everyone knew all of their lines so to help them I could prompt them with the script.

8) Set yourself a goal for the next rehearsal

Learn to trust everyone with my body weight more.

1) What was the topic of your play? How did your group communicate this topic? Is this topic relevant to your target audience and society? How? Why?

The play was about a group of people planning to stop young people and children from being trafficked around the world. We communicated this by using physical theatre showing that these young people are scared and have no control over the situation

2) What was the main focus of this unit?

The main focus of this unit was to use physical theatre to present characters to the audience effectively.

3) What tasks were you required to complete for this unit?

-Chair duets

-Lifts

-By round through

-Slides

-Mime

-Landing

-Running on the spot

5) What didn’t you enjoy about this unit? How can you improve this to help yourself enjoy it next time round?

I enjoyed working with some of my peers. This will help me as an actor because I can work well with others.I didn’t enjoy being lifted by my peers because I didn’t trust them. Next time I will trust them more so they can lift me without any problems.

6) What style was your play based around? How was this shown in your performance?

The play was based around physical theatre. This was shown in our performance because we used physical techniques such as chair duets and lifts.

7) How did you communicate the themes within the play? The roles you played?

I communicated the themes within the play by using lifts in section 1. I was lifted up high to show that I had no control. It made the audience feel scared for Veronica because she was only a 16 year old and all of a sudden, she is taken away and drugged to be used as a slave.

8) What were the strengths and weaknesses of your personal performance? Of the group’s performance?
The strengths of my personal performance was I adapted well to the lifts and drops. My weaknesses was putting more trust in my peers to allow them to lift me smoothly. The group’s strengths were working together well and adapting to making furniture with their body rather than using real furniture.

9) In what ways did you develop your personal professionalism? How will this help next time round? What difficulties did you face? Was it harder or easier than you expected? Why?

I developed my personal professionalism by trusting others more. This will help me next time because then I can let the others hold me without problems. The difficulties I faced was remembering where to be and when. It was easier than expected because everyone stayed in role and we didn’t mess anything up that resulted

in disaster.

1) Describe your rehearsal.

In rehearsal, we worked on transitions and moving blocks and chairs without noise.

2) What was the aim of this rehearsal?

The aim of this rehearsal was to make sure that transitions were smooth and using and moving blocks had to be silent. For example, when blocks had to be moved off stage, it made loud noises. This is bad because it could distract the audience from the main focus of the play and the audience could loose interest.

3) What were the group strengths from this rehearsal? (Remember to link your answer to your rehearsal aim.)

The group strengths from this rehearsal: everybody worked as an ensemble to make sure that heavy blocks were lifted correctly and made no sound.

4) How did you act on director’s feedback to enhance your contribution and performance?
I was told to make my body adapt to make it look like half a table, so I did with Myah as the other half.

5) What could your group do to improve communication between each other? Why is this important?

The group could have used sign language or specific signs to point where to move the blocks and chairs so there isn’t any noise.
