You can just see the condition pure and innocent people were forced into. They rarely got actual food and had no dignity what so ever. Hitler was just an angry man who lost a war and had to take his anger out on somebody. He blamed the Jews, they did absolutely nothing but they were still treated in this way. You always hear about war trauma but, what about holocaust trauma, I could never imagine what the children saw and how they felt being separated from their familys. Not to mention the parents who worked to start a family to have it ripped apart by the holocaust. This really just jumped out from the page for me. They wore the uniforms so if somebody escaped then they could be identify easily. Prisoners were identified by a number printed on their clothing and also an inverted triangle with lettering to signify the reason for imprisonment. Criminals were marked with a green triangle, political prisoners with red, homosexuals with pink, Jehovah’s Witnesses with purple, and Jewish with a yellow triangle. In some camps there was a yellow triangle over a red triangle to form the Star of David.

The Jews were treated unfairly by Hitler. WWII was a terrible time for the Jews because of how they were treated. The Jews had done nothing wrong, but they were still treated with disrespect. The Nazis and Hitler made the Jews work themselves to death and were killed for no reason at all. They were hardly fed and had to suffer through the tough times. Some tried to escape, but only a few were successful. Families were separated and some never saw their family, or even a family member, again. The Jews in the picture below are wearing their uniforms that were required at concentration camps. At concentration camps, they were starved and tortured. They were put into gas chambers to be killed. They had terrible living conditions. They had to be crammed into small spaces. The Jews went through so many unthinkable things. Can you imagine the trauma that the Jews had after this? Not to mention the children. Small children, and even babies were tortured and killed. The Jews had to wear a yellow star to show that they were Jewish. Adolf Hitler kept the Jews in concentration camps in which held extreme inhumane conditions. Jews who were not able to work were held in gas chambers. These gas chambers killed 12,000 people PER SESSION. The Nazi's also gave the prisoners numbers to even more dehumanize the Jews.

The Holocaust was started because the Nazi's blamed the Jews and communists for their loss of WWI. This ignited hatred towards the Jews which eventually led to the mass genocide we know as the Holocaust. Approximately 11 million people died during this diabolical movement. The Jews accounted for 6 million of the deaths from the Holocaust. The Nazi's gave the Jews numbers instead of names as a way of dehumanizing them. Diseases, hunger, and exhaustion were causes of death in the concentration camps. Other ways they were killed were by gas, a single gas chamber could hold up to 12,000 people.
