Regional Recipes by Ms T's Tech

Students will use their knowledge about the setting of their story to direct the research on the culture and foods related to the area and/or the story. They will choose a focal recipe that represents either their story or their country. Some questions that they can answer can include the following:
What crops are grown in the area?
Are there special food products connected notable to the region?
What do people like to eat in the location?
What food would and/or would not like like to try?

Continent: Europe - Madeleines from France

Madeleines are a light cake or cookie that originates from France. This is connected to my story, because my story is set in Paris, France and the lead character is named Madeline. This would be a good order at a local bistro in France and I plan to try and share this recipe. The video notes how it would go nicely with tea, but I would like to try it with what sounds like a better version of coco called chocolate chaud.

Continent:Europe - Eton Mess from England

Eton Mess is a traditional British dessert that is thought to have been created by Eton College. It is a popular dish because it is so easy to make and is now often connected to Wimbledon as a summer dessert to enjoy during the matches. I like the idea of the ingredients and it reminds me of strawberry shortcake so I believe I would like to try it with the help of my mom or in this case, my mum

Continent: Europe - Gazpacho from Spain

Coming from Andalucia, gazpacho is a Spanish soup traditionally served cold. I chose this recipe because it is interesting to me more than I want to try it myself. I imagine it would be similar to V8 vegetable juice makes me okay with the idea. The fact that this video also includes a link to a video on limonada makes me want to try it together. I am not that picky of an eater so I will consider it, if I can get help with the cutting, but I will most likely leave the ice and the extra unblended food out. A special note, this cook notes how Spain is the biggest producer of olive oil.
