Cause:
-Climate change causes rising temperatures in the Arctic and Antarctic in the cryosphere.
Effects:
-As ocean and air temperatures rise, this adds more water vapor to the air, which is a greenhouse gas that has increased by more than 20%.
-As the ice melts, it causes the sea to rise but everything else is unaffected, and can add an additional 20 feet of water level.

-Erik Ivans, a scientist who coordinated a project for nasa stated that, "The rate of ice loss from Greenland has increased almost five-fold since the mid-1990s", adding on, another scientist on the same project stated that, "Although the Greenland ice sheet is only about one tenth the size of Antarctica, today it is contributing twice as much ice to sea levels".

- In the year 1910 President Taft opened up Glacier National Park that included more the 150 glaciers. Today there is only 30 left and all those remaining are 1/3 their original size. Within the next 30 years the remaining glaciers will be gone.
- A warming climate expands seawater and causes ice caps and glaciers to melt making sea levels rise and pushing shorelines back.
- In 2007, scientist recorded that the Arctic Ocean had lost 20% of its mass in just the past two years. The lowest its mass had been down since the data started being recorded in 1978. All of it could be gone by the year 2030.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/arctic-ice-melts-cause-rising-sea/

the 2000's:
This is when global warming first came to light in society. Al Gore was able to bring this to attention through his presentations, called "The Inconvenient Truth."
2014: The majority of global warming impacts on the environment was obvious in 2014. There was more occurences of extreme weather in all regions and drastic changes in temperature. This is all caused by human activity.
2114: In this year, the earth will continue to heat up, going up to temperatures increasing by about 10.8 degrees. Sea levels are expected to raise 2 feet. During the winter season, there may not be ny ice at all in the Arctic, due to it being already melted.

In this case the Arctic ocean has significantly darker water than that of the Atlantic or Pacific because of its salt content.

"As more heat is absorbed by the oceans, it creates a “positive feedback loop” that essentially changes the atmosphere’s and ocean’s circulation. The salt content of ocean water, including arctic waters, changes when polar ice melts, because it doesn’t contain any salt. When glaciers melt in the ocean, the freshwater tends to stay on top because salt water is heavier...this affects ocean currents that normally move the warm water at the equator back to the arctic "
