Disregard the post next to this with similar information and title I couldn't figure out how to get rid of it, it was the OG history piece and I couldn't edit it or delete it.

The history of the Marine Corps began when two battalions of Continental Marines were formed on 10 November 1775 in Philadelphia as a service branch of infantry troops capable of fighting both at sea and on shore. After the conclusion of the American Revolution the institution was dissolved and was not reinstated until 11 July 1798 in preparation for the Quasi-War with France. A big piece of Marine history and Lore is the effort to capture Tripoli in the first Barbary War, immortalized in the first line of the Marines Hymn "From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" and the Mameluke Sword carried by Marine Officers. The Marines are noted for their involvement in the Battle of New Orleans during the war of 1812. Under Commandant Archibald Henderson Congress passed the Act for the Better Organization of the Marine Corps stipulated that the
USMC was a part of the Department of the Navy thwarting President Jackson's efforts to integrate the Marine Corps with the Army. This would be the first of many times the independence of the Corps would be challenged. The USMC served in the various conflicts up until the Civil War and played little role outside of blockades, and after this Civil War the USMC began to decline in strength and significance, even having its continued existence questioned with the move from sails to steam ships. During this time many customs and traditions took shape with the Marines Hymn being created and the adoption of the motto "Semper Fidelis" (always faithful). In World War 1 the Marines served as a part of the American Expeditionary Force and experienced an increase in size and strength. Between WWI and WWII under the commandant of John A. Lejeune the USMC developed and studied amphibious warfare techniques which prepared the Corps for combat in the Pacific Theater. The Marine Corps served a pivotal role in the success of the campaign in the Pacific theater serving in the battles of Guadalcanal, Bougainville, Tarawa, Guam, Tinian, Cape Gloucester, Saipan, Peleliu, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. In the European Theater they played a minor role mainly working with OSS. The Marines played a big role in the Korean War as well, especially the First Marines with "Chest" Puller. In Vietnam they are noted for their role in the Battles of Hue and Khe Sanh and operating in the northern area of South Vietnam, Marines were withdrawn in 1971 but returned to aid in the evacuation of Saigon. following Vietnam the Corps resumed their expeditionary role, and post 9/11 has served alongside other military services engaged in global operations.

The Department of the Navy, led by the Secretary of the Navy, is a military department of the cabinet-level U.S. Department of Defense that oversees the Marine Corps and the Navy. The most senior Marine officer is the Commandant, responsible to the Secretary of the Navy for organizing, recruiting, training, and equipping the Marine Corps so that its forces are ready for deployment under the operational command of the Combatant Commanders. The marine corps is organized into for subdivisions, Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) the operating Forces, the supporting establishment, and the marine forces reserve (MARFORRES or USMCR)
The Commandant of the Marine Corps is the highest-ranking officer of the Marine Corps, unless a Marine is either the chairman or Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. The Commandant is a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and reports to the Secretary of the Navy. The Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps acts as the chief deputy to the Commandant. The Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps is the senior enlisted Marine, and acts as an adviser to the Commandant. Headquarters Marine Corps comprises the rest of the Commandant's counsel and staff, with deputy Commandants that oversee various aspects of the Corps assets and capabilities.
The current and 37th Commandant is Robert Neller, who assumed the position on 30 September 2015, Glenn M. Walters is Assistant Commandant and Ronald L. Green is Sergeant Major.
Ranks in the USMC fall into the category of Commissioned Officer Warrant Officer and enlisted, (decreasing order of authority)
Going up in Authority from Commandant, it goes to Secretary of Navy who is Richard Spencer, from him Secretary of Defense who the acting Secretary is Patrick M. Shanahan, Formerly Jim "Mad Dog" Mattis, The Secretary of Defense reports to the President who is currently Donald J. Trump.
Commissioned officers are distinguished from other officers by their commission which is the formal written authority, issued in the name of the President of the United States, that confers the rank and authority of a Marine officer. Commissioned officers carry the "special trust and confidence" of the President of the United States. Marine Corps commissioned officers are promoted based on an "up or out" system in accordance with the Defense Officer Personnel Management Act of 1980.
Warrant officers are primarily former enlisted experts in a specific specialized field and provide leadership generally only within that speciality.

I've covered most things on this list so far so here are the remaining ones that don't fit into their own page.
The technology used is typically the latest in military tech. It is probably given priority to the Special Operations units within the Corps like MARSOC.
Not Specified by the more senior an officer the high the pay grade
Values could be defined as follows
Honor, courage and commitment, the core values of the Marines, define how every Marine in the Corps thinks, acts and fights.
The tremendous amount of pride people have when it comes to being a Marine could be considered ethnocentrism. The fact that it is exclusive and super big on America with it being a military affiliate could also translate to ethnocentrism.
