This POC would reach my target audience of RGA's (registered guest attendants) working directly with people living with dementia because it would make them aware of the issue and the implications of dementia world-wide. I would draw them into the learning by identifying the issue at a global level and then converging in to their role as RGA's at Season's. I think it is important for them to know that organizations are taking the stats seriously and that it has become a public health priority in Canada. Since they will be working directly with people living with dementia this will stimulate their curiosity to learn more about innovative approaches to patient care (such as a person-centered approach).

Marina DeBona - Dementia 101
This POC would provide the learner with relevant foundational content on dementia as they embark on their learning journey. This fits within my plan to provide the students with the foundational knowledge around early symptoms of dementia and anticipated brain changes (that are not part of normal ageing) and how to detect them. It also exposes the students to Teepa Snow who is a guru in this field. Her expert videos and TikTok videos, which are all available through her her company called Positive Approach to Care will be extremely beneficial to them and will assist them to develop strategies on how to engage with people living with dementia while on the job.

The FB group/page can contain exclusive content that is interesting and captivating and can support the RGA's in their jobs at Season's. It sustains their engagement through a popular social media platform that the RGA's would be using anyhow. This is a great way to keep things highly targeted for them, receive insights from colleagues, sharing of best practices and build a community of practice.

The email will allow me to reach my target audience of first-time e-commerce entrepreneurs by providing an initial point of contact that makes them aware of this free module.

Having a short conversation about the module on a relevant podcast (like StartUp Grind Podcast) will provide content to learners, and will serve as a point of contact that introduces knowledge both from and beyond the module (a “teaser” of sorts) to my target audience. I like the podcast as a POC and form of marketing for my target learners—first-time e-commerce entrepreneurs—because it is a form of media that my target audience likely already consumes, and it is something they can listen to while taking part in other activities (for example, washing the dishes, commuting to work, and so on). Podcasts contribute to a culture of curiosity and learning by allowing learners to download for free an incredibly rich archive of information across a range of topics, which are usually presented in digestible bits.

Crysi Popowich | Providing Lending Support

This POC would engage my audience by including them in the development of future learning.

This channel fits my aim of having the learners turn inquiries into learning opportunities.

When collecting prototype feedback, tenured members of the learning group asked for more content that they can deliver to their teams, while asking/offering to contribute toward more projects.

What better way to expand the Lending Support learning and build out our 70/20/10 model than to include the learners in the development of learning content?

As a lean learning team for a rapidly growing organization, we do not have capacity to provide learning, for every topic, especially for the ever growing amount of 'institutional knowledge', that is not documented. By connecting learners with SMEs across business units (see Engagement) they will gather incredible exposure to best practices and institutional knowledge, at a rate far faster than what the learning team cold ever accomplish. They can document and deliver this info to the learning team who can then 'beautify' the content and return it to the learners to deliver to their respective teams, with enthusiasm, as they have had a hand in creating the content themselves. This will build the learners collaborative skills, increase their understanding of the organization, foster and enhance their communication and facilitation skills, as well as reinforce their learning by having them teach back, all of which contribute to the 20% and 70% portions of the 70/20/10 model.

As an added benefit, this will also make it easier, for our learning team to catalogue, distribute, and maintain content.

The played around the concept of CEO and made it into a Chief Empathy Officer teaser.

As a POC for my target audience, I would use this same play on words and create a short quiz (max 5 questions) around the competencies and behaviours we would be looking for and observing in a Chief Empathy Officer. The questions would reinforce observable behaviours linked to the three types of empathy, something covered in Week 1 of our Empathy Challenge.

I think it might be interesting to finish on a catchy phrase such as: ‘’Ready to boost your empathy skills to the level of Chief Empathy Officer? As the Empathy Challenge is a personal project, it may grow to be delivered in various formats. How the Empathy Cards would be used would depend on my target audience (e.g.: an intact team/closed group or an asynchronous/open enrollment group) – it could be through email if the group/team is enrolled in the Challenge or through social media to gain interest and buy-in.

The Empathy Cards would provide learners with foundational content on empathy and help demystify empathy.

Heather Gaffney - Academic Preparation for Incoming University Students (Laurier 101 program)

This POC would reach my target audience of incoming university students because all students will be emailed on June 1st welcoming them to Laurier and introducing them to the Laurier 101 program (incoming student orientation and transition program).

It would draw them into the learning by providing a quick 30 second promo video that is a sneak-peek of what is to come and how they will be supported throughout the summer. The hope is to capture attention and stir interest.

It also stimulates their curiosity with leaving them thinking, "what's next"? A follow-up email is sent a week later with next steps, but in the meantime, we encourage students in the email to check-out our website for more information. "Sneak-peek" videos have worked very well for us with marketing to young-adults and for the academic preparation modules, I plan to create a similar 30 video to intro the benefits of preparing for academic life.

Using Instagram to Connect with Incoming Students

Heather Gaffney - Academic Preparation for Incoming University Students (Laurier 101 program)

This POC would reach my target audience of incoming university students because they are highly active on Instagram and enjoy connecting with our content in Stories.
It would draw them into the learning when we ask them multiple choice or this-or-that questions in stories which gauges their current comfort or skill level with university-related competencies. For example, we will ask them on Instagram Stories, "How prepared do you feel for starting university in September? A) Feeling great and can't wait! B) Feeling excited with some nerves. C) Feeling so so but still lots of questions. D) Not prepared yet but I'll get there soon!" Their answers stimulate their interest in university preparation and then after a series of engaging questions, we send them to resources that will help answer their questions over the summer.

It also stimulates their curiosity with introducing them to some topics or skills they may not be thinking about during the summer before starting university such as time management in university. When we can identify a gap in their skills or they emotionally connect and think "maybe I'm not as prepared as I thought..." then this pulls them into the Laurier 101 program and the academic preparation content. Social media has worked very well for us with this group and I look forward to increasing the "pull" techniques to engage more students in our content!

I've been following Might Networks since last fall, and I recently learned that the Academy of Innovation in Human Resources' (AIHR) is a major client of the platform--so that's very encouraging. I'm confident that its features are an excellent fit for social learning in my project, since outcomes are about bringing people together and sustaining a culture of curiosity in clearer communication, whether on-the-go, at home or for work. Live video meetups are easy to setup. Long story short, Mighty is like a social platform that takes participants down the same learning journey, as opposed to a social media vacuum that sucks you down multiple rabbit holes. Thank god! By the way, MN is one of the few social platforms owned and operated by a woman, in an industry where the glass ceiling is ever present and particularly low.
