SLS/ALP is a good structure to design a differentiated playlist for our learners.

One thing that resonates with me after today’s session is that many work processes and strategies shared by Dr Tucker is in line with ePedagogy, KATs and Active Learning Processes. This further reinforces my belief that SLS as a learning platform is a good structure for the learning playlist she shared about.

However, to make it more meaningful for my own dept/subjects, a unit learning playlist may be more effective compared to a lesson playlist. This may allow learners who have richer active knowledge to skip ‘optional’ basic content that they already know, and for different profiles of learners to choose the learning activities they wish to delve deeper. End point to check common understanding/ AfL, there can be check-out quizzes or ITTs (the metacognitive strategies she spoke of are our ITT routines in SLS too).

(conceptual understanding is even more important than ever for us to encourage deeper student understanding that promotes transfer of skills and knowledge across contexts)

One thing that resonated with me is that in AES, most of us already have our own playlists for our lessons. In this sense, Tucker's sharing would help us refine some aspects/components of our playlists according to the various needs and personalities of the classes :)

-Badariah-

The idea of playlists isn’t too foreign to what we/I already practice (at least in some shape or form). Eg. Sharing plans/stretch goals with students, and providing them the resources for them to try and achieve the goals on their own terms. I feel affirmed that my strategies are backed by Dr Tucker’s sharing.

I am thinking of how we can organise the playlist as a unit playlist (aligning with the learning outcomes) for students to have more agency in deciding their learning progress based on their readiness.

For students who are more advance, we can also think of creating levels to give them the autonomy to decide how they want to deepen their learning.
