We don’t elect the monarch.Neither the people nor parliament has had much say in who is the king or queen in three hundred years. In a modern democratic society we should have the right to chose who our Head of State is. In other words, the current monarchy might not work in distant future. There are several reasons why it should be removed. The main reason is taxpayers pay a large amount of money for the monarchy for years. It is seen as a figure that the people are proud of and in many times loyal to. I believe that the Monarchy should not be abolished because it unites British people and gives them something to be proud of. The United Kingdom has elections every five years and new prime ministers within, for that people can not be loyal to the prime ministers and might not go with their decisions.  However, many people have the opposite idea where they think that the huge amount of spending that is going on fixing the Buckingham palace can be used in better sources like building better roads, better education etc. Facts say that Buckingham palace brings a lot of tourists every year and with tourists the UK economy will get better.
