I would post a question in order to get the entire class thinking. This clearly isn't as formal as an Assignment, but a question can lead to great group discussion.

2. Reuse a Post
I would reuse a post in order to 'harp' on information that I find to be crucial.

3. Assign to specific students
As Ms. Abate mentioned, this can make differentiation very easy. Also, if a particular student needed extra work in order to raise their grade, this could also provide a simple way to do so.

Creating Topics
I create topics to help keep myself and my students organized. This allows students to self-assess how they are doing in a specific category of work (for example Questions of the Day - Classwork) and it allows me to review current and past units.
3. Moving posts to the top
I find this to be especially helpful if I want to revisit a previous assignment (for example, "Re-read the paragraph you wrote at the beginning of the unit. What new details could you add now?"), or if many students are missing an assignment (I can verbally remind them and then they see the assignment at the top of their stream.

This is good for meeting students where they're at.

2. Using posts in multiple classes: I teach 3 algebra courses. Two of them are moving at the same pace. If I give one class an assignment, I would most likely need to use it again in the other class. At some point, I would also need to use it in the third class, once we are there.

3. Posting a question: I love this feature for surveying the students. Last year, we used it to survey students about what activity they would like to do on the last day of school. It put all of their answers into a spread sheet and made it easy to group students accordingly.

Assigning posts to specific students would be great for differentiation between tier 1, 2 and 3 kids.
3.

1) Assigning posts to specific scholars allows me to differentiate for my bilingual class so that I don't have so much digital clutter. This allows me to put language appropriate documents in the hands of the scholars that needs them the most.

2) Using posts in my others classes saves me some time from having to make an assignment for each Google Classroom. They only thing I wish they would revise or alter is the ability to schedule the same assignments to the classes at different times. It only allow you to schedule when you create things for individual classes.

3) Moving things to the top of the stream is a great way for me to prioritize or reintroduce materials, activities or resources that we have used in the past that may have gotten lost in the shuffle of the year.

Using Posts in Multiple Classrooms:
I would use this in Google classroom because I teach the same subject multiple times and often I think its valuable for students to see that they are working on the same materials as their classmates from different classes and can campare assignments or help one another if they are taking the same class with me, just in a different period. It helps with collaboration among students.
Creating topic and organizing by topic: I think this is valuable to get students attention and also to have them "mentally" revisit labs and curriculum that we have already completed or previously worked on. They can use this as a study tool as well as a way to keep track of what they have learned and worked on.

Reuse a post: I think that sometimes it is important to "add to" or reflect on topics that have already covered, or even to go over that material again. This would be a great way for students to work together and go back to what they have learned and add to it or adjust it if they feel they need too.

1. Posting Questions. This is a great way to create "paper free" assignments. My son has many of these tasks to do as homework. Teachers can also use these as a way to demonstrate study techniques.

2. Assigning Posts to Specific Students. What a great way to differentiate! I especially like that it becomes a private assignment so other students won't always have to know when their peers are getting different work. This might help with confidence of some of our older students with learning needs.

3. Organizing Topics.
This tool makes the Classroom much more user friendly. Great for looking up information without having to go through the whole content. I think this would be helpful when studying for an assessment. Students can easily review posts from a specific topic to review information.

When you differentiate on Google Classroom it is only the teacher and the student able to view, so that the other students would not have to notice.
2. Using in multiple classrooms. I teach a few sections of the same class, and being able to post assignments to many classes can save me time.
3. Reuse a Post. I like this one because sometimes we have an idea about an assignment, but then think of something else to add or remove to make it better. I will be able to assign different levels without students seeing the paper or level of each student.

Posting to Multiple Classes: Posting the same content to multiple classes will save me so much time! I will use it because it allows me more time to differentiation and plan versus physically prepping for each class.

Posting a Question: I typically begin class with a question relating to the topic of the day. Using Google Classroom to ask this question allows ALL students to participate and includes all 4 modalities (if we share out after) in one simple step.

Creating Topics- I like the idea of organizing information my units of study or subject areas. I like the idea of each subject area having its own area and not all on the one continuous stream.

Posting a question- Questioning is a teachers are of strength. This is just another mode in which students can answer, either individually or in partners. It can be a quick was to assess prior knowledge or to determine whether a student understands a topic.

Assignments Posted to multiple students- This is a great way to differentiate assignments and questions. This could be a way to challenge your students who finish early and have extra time to complete an additional assignment.

Assign Posts to Specific Students--This feature is useful for any differentiated classroom. I will use it to tailor work to reading or math groups of different levels. I teach in a multi-grade classroom with students doing a combination of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade work. Almost every assignment I give is differentiated for at least 3 groups.

Moving Posts to the Top of the Stream--

This will be useful as I revise my plans throughout the week. Often I have misjudged the speed a group of students will learn new material. I will use this feature to introduce an “intermediate step” when I’ve taken too big of a step in my regular plans. If, for example, a group is struggling and needs a little more practice on today’s work before moving on, I can add a new assignment at the top that the group can complete before moving on with the previous plan that is already entered.

Saving a Draft Post-- This feature will be useful as I create long-range plans with my grade level partners. In our meetings, we often sketch out assignments and lessons in order to keep consistency between our rooms. The tentative plans we create can be firmed up as I review the draft more immediately before my class meetings. It will be handy for us to share these drafts and keep them to keep ourselves coordinated in our instruction.

This option is nice because it keeps my old assignments and posts near but not cluttering up my Google classroom.
I rarely use the repost option beacuse I like to keep my assignments current. I do repost when I am asking for an observation at different times of the quarter.
Posting a question is effective way to begin class - it focuses the students and lets me see what they are learning.

I like the idea of posting to a small group foe giving different tasks but I can also give the same task differentiated. The idea of posting a question is great fi a group of kids want to answer together or I wanna start a debate. I think that a repost would be good if I notice many of the kids did not get something or if I want to take an assignment further. So for example if I create a graphic organizer asking for the elements of fiction but then decide to ask for the moral or theme of story.
