         <description><![CDATA[<div>Conrad's Heart of Darkness is told through Marlow. Prominent on the book's cover are the eyes--red and white. Some in the caribbean believe that to have or be "red eyed" means that to covet another person's possessions and might resort to any means to get it.  With this perspective in mind, the red eyes are those of imperialists.<br>Questions for students<br>1.  Discuss the subject of imperialism as a necessary means for expansion and advancement.<br><br></div>]]></description>
