         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong><em>Martha Montgomery, Ed.S</em></strong> is the School Psychology Specialist in the Office of Student Services&nbsp;</div><div>at the Virginia Department of Education. At the VDOE, she focuses on building the capacity of&nbsp;</div><div>school psychologists and other specialized instructional support staff (SISP) to offer the&nbsp;</div><div>provision of a broad scope of services that support the academic, behavioral, and social&nbsp;</div><div>emotional needs of all students. Some of those efforts include suicide prevention, social&nbsp;</div><div>emotional learning, cultural competence, bullying prevention, and mental health awareness. &nbsp;</div><div>During her 24 years as a school psychologist in Virginia public schools, she provided&nbsp;</div><div>comprehensive psychological services to students, aged two through 21. She completed&nbsp;</div><div>psychological evaluations to assess students with suspected disabilities, participated in school&nbsp;</div><div>threat and risk assessments, created and provided training for educators, and conducted&nbsp;</div><div>functional behavioral assessments to develop behavior intervention plans.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Youth and Families Perspectives on School Health</div><div>, Panel discussion facilitated by Dr. Erin Maughan. &nbsp;<br><br></div><div><strong><em>Erin D. Maughan PhD, RN, PHNA-BC, FNASN, FAAN </em></strong>is an associate professor in the School&nbsp;</div><div>of Nursing at George Mason University. She has over 22 years of experience working in school&nbsp;</div><div>health as a frontline school nurse, the state school and adolescent school nurse consultant for the&nbsp;</div><div>Utah Department of Health, and as a school nurse researcher. As the former Director of Research&nbsp;</div><div>at the National Association of School Nurses she co-led the development of a national uniform&nbsp;</div><div>data set for school nurses, identification of school nurse indicators, and the creation of NASN’s&nbsp;</div><div>Framework for 21st Century School Nursing Practice™. She also is the CEO of Center for&nbsp;</div><div>School Health Innovation &amp; Quality. Throughout her career, Dr Maughan has studied and&nbsp;</div><div>provided consultation on issues related to school-age children and school nurse staffing. Dr&nbsp;</div><div>Maughan is a Fellow in the National Academy of School Nurses and American Academy of&nbsp;</div><div>Nursing. Dr. Maughan is certified as an advanced public health nurse; was a Johnson and&nbsp;</div><div>Johnson School Health Fellow, and is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse&nbsp;</div><div>Fellow alumni (2013 cohort).
