Yes! My CM and I have done a lot of this. The kids are currently working on an independent research paper & our approach so far has been really individualized. There was one time where I modeled how to find sources on the smart board (lol) and it obviously was not super impactful. Now we have been having one on one meetings with the kids and we model how to search using their topic. I am very explicit about what to look for etc. Much earlier in the year Mary led a lesson (I don't remember exactly on what) about finding good sources. She runs current events days where the kids need to evaluate the source they chose. Over time I do see it having imapct.

This was the best example I could find but it was less so informing research and more so having students click links. I want to learn more about how to do this in a way that promotes inquiry. Very curious about how to develop digital literacy.

I had my kids research different slave revolts and I noticed that they were seriously struggling with identifying reliable, relevant, and accessible sources. For example if one of the requirements for them was "describe the leadup to the revolt" they would copy and paste "describe the leadup to the revolt" in the google search bar. So I had them practice with something they already knew about and I modeled one for them
