We have added Rewards (a curriculum that continues on with word analysis in multisyllabic words reaching into 4 and 5 syllable words) into our whole group all block instruction. We celebrate the 70%decoding and in word reading and 76% vocabulary. There was a slight downward trend in the number of students meeting their benchmark on fluency. This is an area that 5th grade has been working on through the use of the HELPS program.
