         <description><![CDATA[<div>Michelangelo was an extremely hard working man, even before his fame. When he was 13 he went off to study art as an apprentice under Domenico Ghirlandaio in Florence, 1488. This was against he fathers wishes to pursue the career of art. However, because he was able to study as an apprentice his talent was recognized. Due to this, he then went to study under “the ruler of the Florentine republic and a great patron of the arts,” Lorenzo de’ Medici. While working under Lorenzo de’ Medici, in 1490, he stayed in the Medici palace for 2 years honing his art skills and studying Medici's art under Bertoldo di Giovanni.&nbsp;<br><br>(Bergin)<br>("Michelangelo.")&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

During the Renaissance he was arguably the greatest artist of the time. The painting includes seven prophets and five sibyls around the border of the ceiling and then scene from the book of Genesis within the border.
