Dear Editor,

I am writing to express my opinions on the issue of wild boars in Hong Kong. Nowadays, many boars are seen in urban areas. This widely affects our lives as these boars find food from our rubbish bins and streets. Here is one of the many solutions which is effective and simple.

Citizens should stop feeding the wild boars as they might lose their ability to find food by themselves and simply keep on coming to the urban areas for more food. Even though people feed them out of kindness, this act might actually harm them as they are not familiar with the animal’s diet. This will only create more conflicts between wild boars and humans.

In conclusion, we should stop feeding the wild boars. This solution is simple yet it requires everyone’s cooperation to make it effective. I hope that by doing this, humans and wild boars can share the city and live in harmony.

Best regards,

Chris Wong

Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my opinion on the issue of wild boars. In recent years, there were a number of wild boars spotted in the neighbourhood, mostly gathering near trash bins in search for food. Regarding the rise of the issue of wild boars, I am writing to give a few suggestions on how to solve this issue.

Wild boars have been spotted in the neighbourhood recently, and they are disrupting people’s daily lives, but it is all happening due to people’s poor waste management. Residents produce waste everyday without carrying out proper management, such as leaving leftover food, cans and wrappers on the streets. Some people even feed the wild boars regularly. This gives wild boars an easy access to food, as they can reach trash bins too easily and also be served a direct source of food, and that attracts wild boars to gather around bins and munch on anything the boars find.

To solve this issue, the government can expand the ban of feeding wild boars and increase the penalty to alert the public to not to feed wild animals. The government can also increase the penalty for littering on the streets so that the boars will not be accessible to any source of food, and to reduce the amount of boars seen.

If the solutions above are put into actions, I believe that wild boars will not cause any harm to the neighbour, and the safety of the residents can be assured.

Yours faithfully,
Chris Wong

They hurt and bite several residents and have posed a danger to them.

One of the major reason of wild boars being uncontrollable is that they biologically reproduce very quickly. To deal with this problem, I suggest the government may perform sterilisation surgeries. The surgeries could reduce the rate of reproduction. The government would be able to regulate the amount of boars more easily.

To conclude, regulating wild boars requires both stakeholders and the government’s efforts.

Dear Editor,

I am writing to express my opinion on the serious issue of wild boars.

The amount of wild boars increases rapidly in Hong Kong as there is a sufficient food supply in nature, and it can help them to reproduce easily. However, when the amount of wild boars is rising, the wild boars started to find for food in urban areas, and they started to attack residents around them for the food. That’s the major reason that the wild boars attack the residents.

To solve this issue, we can stop feeding the wild boars so that they won’t think that there is food supply in unban areas, and it can stop them from entering the urban areas.

To conclude, as a resident, we can stop feeding the wild boards to avoid them entering the urban areas. I wish that the serious issue of wild boars can be solved under different measurements and support of residents and the government.

Yours faithfully,
Chris Wong

I would like to suggest some actions which can be done by humans to prevent this problem.

As wild boars are finding for more food, they are coming to urban area. Some people are providing food for wild boars, or some of the people are not treating the rubbish well, more and more wild boars come and find the food everywhere. They are also attacking people for food, and become a risk for humans.

People feel scared of meeting the boards in urban area, the government is culling the wild boars to prevent them from reproducing. Some people think that it is an inhumane way as wild boars are also a life, not simply an object, we should respect them, which is also the same of my point of view.

Except from culling the boars, we can do some actions to prevent them coming. We can build up more barriers in between of the nature and urban area, so that the boars won’t come easily. And humans should not provide food for them, or else they thinks that humans could provide their daily food, and always come for food.

Yours faithfully,
Chris Wong

Dear Editor,
As a concerned member of society, I am writing to express my views and suggestions on the issue of wild boars in Hong Kong. My points are as follows.
There has been an ascending trend of wild boars appearing in urban cities and it is believed that they might attack citizens and pose dangers to them. Citizens feel outraged, nervous and uncomfortable. This has stirred up quite some mixed opinions from the public and the government has to pose more aggressive ways of dealing with them, for instance, culling them.
Personally, the issue of boars should be treated in a non-lethal and less aggressive way instead of culling them. We, as responsible citizens with global outlook and mindsets, should strive to maintain a balance between human health and animal wellbeing. We have to bear the sufferings and consequences of us giving them easy access to food through feeding them and managing waste bins poorly. This problem can be solved in different aspects. Citizens should stop feeding them. The government should install more animal-resistant bins and build barriers to prevent boars from disrupting our place. In this way the boars will not have easy access to food and may return to their original habitats and stop disrupting us.

Conclusion

Yours faithfully,
Chris Wong

Dear Editor,
Recently, there are more and more accidents regarding the boars attacking human beings. Whether boars should be killed or not have been concerned. As a citizen who is concerned about this issue, I am writing to explain why they should not be killed in a cruel way.

To begin with, boars are violent. They are known to be an aggressive attacker, it is risky to allow them to survive in the nature. According to the official data from the government, there are more than 500 cases of boars attacking pedestrians. If we allow them to walk freely in the city, there will be more and more accident and injuries reported. To sum up, it is not suitable for us to allow this situation to continue to worsen.

However, I think gentler policies should be used to treat boars. ‘Life is life’, although they are risky, we, as humans provided them with food resources is the main reason why they exist in the urban areas. Unorganised waste, feeding them with food, make them think that the residential area is a main supply of food. To resolve it, it is advised that the government should set up barriers to separate an individual area for boars and humans. Scaring them away and removing food resources frequently is also suggested.

To conclude, although one side must sacrifice in two important weighing issues, it is inhumane to kill them in a violent way. In fact, gentler ways should be used. I hope to the raised attention from your readers and society.

Yours sincerely,
Chris Wong

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to you to express my opinions on the problem of wild boars in Hong Kong. In the past few years, wild boars have been reported attacking the public and appearing in urban areas. The government has suggested sterilising the boars and even cull the boars if they happen to appear in urban areas.

I believe that there are multiple solutions to the problem, instead of just culling the wild boars. For example, we should not feed the wild boars when we see them. If we feed them, it may speed up their reproducing rate, which will make the problem more serious. Moreover, the government should educate the public how to deal with wild animals when we see them. It can help to raise public awareness on the problem of animal welfare.

To conclude, I believe every species on earth should have the right to live and human shouldn’t kill them just because of our own convenience. Government should stop culling wild boars even if they appear in urban areas

Yours faithfully,
Chris Wong

Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my opinion on the issue of wild boars . Nowadays, we can find boars on the street or in public areas .
The amount of boars is keep growing. This disturbed human’s live and safety.

To begin with, I think the solution of the government of killing them is really inhumane. They are just go around and finding food for survival, this is totally not there fault. The only reason why they know the human area have food is because human feed them before and they remember. Therefore , we should deal with the problem on human first. Human should not feed them anymore and make them to find food in forest by themselves. This may be a possible solution.

Also, I think we can make a lit on all the rubbish bin and they can’t take food from the rubbish bin anymore.

Finally , we can do sterilisation on them to control the amount of boars . Therefore, less amount of boars babies are produced.

Overall, we shouldn’t use the method of killing the boars to solve the problem, this is totally inhumane. We should solve the problem which created by us and not just doubting that the problem is they produce too much . Actually this is a normal food chain in nature. I believe that if we take awareness on this , we could solve the problem.
                                                             Yours faithfully,
                                                                Chris wong

There are many news about wild boar found in the urban areas nowadays in Hong Kong. Some of the wild boars even harm human in the cities. The issue is becoming severe.
To solve this problem, i think the government can build barriers to part the urban area and the forests so that the wild boars are kept in the forest and won't threaten human in the cities. The government can also find people to catch the boars who are still found in the urban areas.
Besides, i think the reason that causes the number of wild boars increasing rapidly is because human don't treat their waste properly and feed the boars. This provides the food source for them. To solve this issue, people should not feed boars in the wild and throw their rubbish in a bin with a lid, so the boars will leave the urban area as there is no more food for them.
In conclusion, human should stop feeding boars and treat their waste properly. Wild boars are seen commonly in urban areas of the city nowadays and it causes quite a nuisance to us Hong Kong citizens.

The number of wild boars in Hong Kong have been increasing significantly. In 2011, there were 225 sightings and nuisance reports involving boars in Hong Kong. 8 years later, it rose to 1184 in 2019. It is their nature to reproduce massively and quickly if they have enough food. This is caused by people letting them easily access to the food in trash bins and feeding them. In recent years, there are more cases of wild boars attacking people. This is a serious problem and it must be solved soon.

Killing is the most direct way to solve the problem. However, it is brutal would tip off the balance between human health and life and animal wellbeing and life. There are multiple solutions that are humane and doesn’t involve killing such as removing triggers and placing anti-boars trash bins. The government can create trash bins that boars cannot open. They can also hire more people to clear the trash bins more frequently and stop trash bins from flooding of trash as the main food source of wild boars is finding food in trash bins.

In conclusion, the issue of wild boars must be solved but without killing. I believe we can solve this problem soon and exist in harmony with wildlife.

Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my opinion on the issue of wild boars in Hong Kong. Throughout these years, wild boars started to go to urban areas to find food. They find food in the rubbish bin and even attacked human. As they reproduce very quickly, these problems increased and became more serious. Therefore, the government started to cull the boars.
The problems seemed to decreased a lot after the government started this action. Every life needs to be respected, people said. This is an inhumane way for solving this problem. The main issue of causing these problems is people feeding wild boars. In my suggestion, people should stop the action of feeding boars. Actually, we cannot balance between animal wellbeing and humans health and life. But I believe if we can lock the wild boars in the forest can be a solution. Culling boars is not the best solution and it is inhumane. In my opinion, we can build barriers around the forest and pick most of the boars into the forest.

Dear editor,

I am writing to express my opinion on the issue of wild boars. Recently, the number of wild boars have been increasing. There are often reported cases about wild board attacking people. The government has taken some actions to solve this issue.

The government has updated its policy. They decided to cull the wild boars when they are seen in the urban areas in order to reduce nuisance. I think it is very inhumane. The biggest cause of the problem is human behaviour. I suggest the government to build barriers in order to stop the wild boars to some into urban areas. Then, it can prevent the people to feed the wild boars and stopping the wild boars to go into urban areas. So, the barriers can protect us human, but not hurting the wild boars at the same time.

To conclude, there are many ways to solve this problem. If there are other solutions, then we should not just kill the boars to protect ourselves. This act is quite inhumane and selfish. We could easily avoid nuisance by setting up barriers along the urban areas and countryside.

Yours faithfully,
Chris Wong
