“I Can” as a valuable lesson for children, when learning in embedded in school and life then children should be enables and be able to change and be the change in the world. They can be less helpless.

Specifically in Sethi’s case, child labor laws being abolished and her students being able to go and get an education in their community, went from teacher telling me to “I am doing it”.

When children are empowered, not only do they do good, they do extremely well.

The city becomes ‘infected’ with the idea of “I can” and “you can” - the city became a playground to spread this message.

Awareness then spread to 100,000 children saying “I Can”, children designing solutions on their own, using their own creativity and imagination to spread this message.

Children leading campaign and teaching their parents and adults how to read and write, children teaching adults in the community how to do good work, raising money in an auction.

Final statement, “We Can”.

By allowing children's creativity to flourish and grow, educators can allow schools to be an outlet that empowers students to bring new ideas to the table and use their imagination for educational purposes. This will allow children to grow in all subject areas and give them the positive attitude they need to do well in school and progress to have a successful future.
