What are our need or growth areas? What do we want to be known for? What is missing from our student outcomes?

A strength we have is building relationships with our students. I believe that a vast majority of our students know that their teachers care about them and their well being. I think students try and work harder for teachers that show that they care. However not sure how we exactly measure that. Maybe DOTS Survey cross-referenced with Skyward Grade Data.

I think we are good at building relationships with students and want to see students be successful inside and outside of school. I think we also do a good job at letting students know academic expectations through unit plans, etc. Our strengths should help students be successful in classes. They also have many out of school opportunities, for example our trip coming up next Tuesday.

Academic Rigor- How do we get students to want to go above and beyond. Most students are focused on just the grade and not necessarily the process of learning. How do we instill that? We want to be a school that inspires lifelong learners. How do we measure the process of learning?

I feel like are students are less interested in being academically challenged then in the past- for example less students taking upper level science classes. Are we challenging them enough at the lower level classes.

How can we get kids to be more enthusiastic, or at least positive, about attending and participating in school? There are a lot of Negative Nancys in the middle school, which infects others.
