So, we see this in the way Mrs Reed treats her and the school(orphan)  she goes to as well.  2) Yes women are still seen as trophies. We see this in men calling other women “Trophy Wives” etc. 
Women are viewed differently today but not as harsh as before. However, boys will always make jokes about you being on your period if you seem a bit aggressive or moody. 
Also a tiny waist is still seen as an ideal body type in our society. 
Women are also still on diets such as Keto, banting, intermittent fasting etc. (Regulations of food)
Postpartum depression is still a bit taboo.
