He finds a cave and sleeps in there. In the night he is attacked by a porcupine and throws his hatchet making sparks. In his dream his dad and friend are trying to tell him he can make fire with the hatchet. In the morning he works on trying to make sparks and then he gathers wood and bark and dead grass to catch the sparks.
