The first start up on the company was called “Romotive ''Jeff Bezos announces on 60 minutes that he is thinking about launching prime air. In 2014 Romtive shut down and they tried to focus on delivering medical supplies. This was when Keenan Wyrobek and William Hetzler joined. In 2016 Zipline started making operation centers and has saved 14,000 people. At this time they also signed a deal with the wandan government to put operation centers there. In 2018 Zipline got on the best inventions list by making their P2 drone to deliver food to peoples homes instead of medical centers. In 2020 Zipline plans to make a fourth distribution center in Ghana and is supplying 2,500 hospitals and medical center. Finally in 2021 Bloomberg reports that zipline will be deliverying vaccines to Nigeria. Zipline had raised 250M out of the 1.25B that is needed for a future plan.2022 Jeff Bezos creates drones and delivery, but each delivery is $484 and the drones cost $146,000 each unit.

What are the Impacts on Humans?

The Impacts it has on humans is very good. The people are affected very well by this industry because if you’re hurt, then it can deliver needed medical supplies to hospitals in 15-30 minutes. People are also negatively affected because of the easy access to buy stuff, causing them to buy more. It affects both mental and physical health because doctors can deliver blood to hospitals and it will come fast. If you’re prescribed medication you can order, therefore it will deliver your medication to your home. One of the jobs is packaging the supplies and they are responsible for getting the medical supplies into very durable bubble wrap and other wraps. The workers do get a fair wage because the bottom 10% get $33,000 a year, the average worker gets $65,000 a year which is the average salary in the US, and to top 10% get $127,000 a year. Due to the fast pace, which you need to work, you will need to be prepared for anything. Since Zipline delivers stuff more efficiently, the companies such as Doordash, UPS, and Uber Eats the use of that will probably go down. Because of the lower use, people will lose the jobs they had there. It does help countries where the industry is in because they are all third-world countries and need more modern technology this helps because it would take up to 4 hours for supplies to be delivered.

impacts on the Economy and Politics

Since the company is owned by Zipline and it sends life-saving medical supplies to people and to hospitals, it does give controlled power to them. Since the trucks would deliver in 3 hours and when it would rain it would take 4 hours best casinario. Rain or shine zipline can deliver in 25 minutes to 500 health facilities, so Zipline helps make countries' economies faster and more effective. Zipline destroys a lot of jobs because the truck's delivery supplies might not be that popular anymore because you can get delivery in 15 minutes instead of an hour. Which would cause truck driver jobs to go down. Since Zipline is offering jobs for people so it also adds jobs, but it destroys more jobs than creates. This affects Amazon and FedEx because it takes jobs away from the truck drivers and takes sales away because it can get to them in less than half the time. Amazon has tried doing drone delivering and they failed because their drones are too loud which is the biggest problem, Therefore Zipline is at the top of the drone delivery industry and Might at one point be at the top of the delivery industry.

The problem is how to reduce the amount of airpollution is getting into our atmosphere, Zipline is solving this problem by making electric drones that can deliver goods cleanly, instead of using gas powered machines. In order to solve this problem you can walk or bike places. Once Zipline is accessible use that to get your medications instead of driving to the closes CVS. To solve this problem we will need to get everything in one trip to the store instead of wasting gas and polluting more.Zipline is going to work with the North Carolina Department of Transportation to “ set up a network of medical distribution centers to use the drones to make medical drone deliveries” said the NCDOT.

The Zipline drones are infact contributing to pollution by using fossil fuels in 2 locations(North Carolina and Utah), so they are affecting the earth negatively. The amount that they are affecting the earth negatively is the lowest in the delivery industry, so it is a improvement. In Utah and North Carolina, 82% and 52% of the energy is made from fossil fuels according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, so it does use limited Nonrenewable resources. A regular car gives out 25.84 metric tons of CO2 a month and electric cars give out 7.12 metric tons of CO2 a month and zipline gives out .73 metric tons of CO2 a month. So, no it does not create a excessive amount of waste because it is electric. This means that this is still a big step from the electric car industry and is better. Zipline is mostly in cities or in the air above the nature and animals, thus it doesnt come into much contact. The materials are polystyrene and carbon fiber,so none of the habitats like forests are affected. It has a polystyrene shell with a very strong carbon fiber inside, so it is very durable so it doesnt waste a lot of materials making more.
